.

The Pats DVD of that season has this one lineman for the Titans going: "Man, it's so cold I can't feel my arms or my legs. I'm freaking out!"

NE weather.

And "global warming"

//

I watched that yesterday. Classic line.

Had to show your manhood, WTF is up with that.

Two hotties and you said NO?????

I was there, and it was the coldest I have ever been in my life.

One good thing was these two HOTTIES offered to share their blanket with me! I didnt except (had to show my manhood), but I shared some of my "hidden" adult beverage with them. We had a blast. :rocker:

Yeah, it is. And a great DVD, too. What a magical season.

Yeah, I would figure when the temp is below zero showing your manhood to two hotties is the LAST thing you would want to do...:D

My brother-in-law went to that game.

The only thing he talks about from that game is how fast his beer froze up...He never really said anything about the game itself.

Re: Anyone here go to the Titans playoff game that was coldest in history for the Pat

I've never wore so much that night. Everything was covered except for my nose and eyes and even that small exposed portion of skin was frozen. I remember clapping with my ski gloves and thinking how silly that was.

Re: Anyone here go to the Titans playoff game that was coldest in history for the Pat

fire pit before and after the game.

my wife was in a full sleeping bag with ski googles in our seats

myself was in my nightshirt and stocking cap all settled down for a long winters game

it was a great night and actually in the 100 section when the crowd was around it was comfy, it was during half time that the place got cold

wasn't there a game against the Colts in the early 90's that was as cold or colder (-25 windchill) the week before christmas? I think the Pats closed the season out against the Fins in foxboro the next week with 45 degree weather

It wasn't comfy in the 300's. I was in the fourth row from the top, and it was cold and windy. My wife and I had our snowshoeing gear on, including insulated boots, but still were cold. The concrete floor was very cold and seeped through our insulated boots. Lost feeling in feet in third quarter and were praying that the game wouldn't go to OT.

We walked halfway to the Walpole Motel before we felt our toes, and at the motel, the heating system couldn't handle the cold. Never got about 60 in the room. Incredible night.

Definately remember, that was actually the first game my wife (gf at the time) went to. That's when I knew I was successful in turning her into a real fan and knew I needed to start saving up for a ring, lol. Had so many layers and hand/feet warmers attached I could barely walk. Couldn't really cook, food was frozen before you could get it from the grill to your mouth and drinks were slushies.....

I wasn't there, but what blew my mind from afar was watching Bob Kraft walk around the field before the game wearing nothing but a suit. Either he had a load on or he had layers underneath. I still cannot believe that.

Also, it's hard to imagine but the Ice Bowl (GB vs. Dallas, 1966) was much colder than that. It was around -13 with wind by the time it was over. After that game the Cowboys plugged up the drain in the shower, filled it with hot water, and all flopped in it like whales trying to de-ice.

I still remember Bob Hayes running routes with both hands stuffed into his pants. All you had to do to know if Hayes was the primary receiver was to watch where his hands were. They were fighting for survival out there.

I still remember Bob Lilly scratching at the ground with his cleats right before the final snap leading to the GB goeahed TD. It was solidly frozen. Horrible surface. If you saw that game you cannot possibly forget Lilly desperately trying to dig out a little turf for good footing, and then the QB sneak right over him - no way to dig in and prevent it.

I also remember both teams airing out the ball a lot more than I had expected. How they could grip the ball was a mystery to me. Both QBs (Starr and Marrideth) had excellent games considering the conditions.

The heaters under the field were powerful, but not quite powerful enough. They were good enough to keep the field moist and soft the night before, but once the temps fell below zero all of that moisture froze solidly. That was one time the heaters really screwed things up because they kept the field moist the night before when they had some snow. The excess moisture caused a glaze to form over the surface of the field, and this glaze just went deeper and deeper into the ground as temperatures dropped.

i remember that day like it was yesterday...what was the windchill...-19?? i was sitting in the 200's not being able to feel my feet!! but the pats won!!

Yup, I remember driving up solo and I had to meet up with my fellow ST holders in the lot at the bottom of the stairs in front of the open endzone. Standing on top of that hill, in the 30 seconds or so I took my hands out of the glove to dial my phone my fingers went numb. We met up with some guys who have been a few rows in front of us (both in old Foxboro as well as the Razor) who just happen to be in construction and had a huge tent set up with a salamander pumping heat in like crazy. It was so warm in the tent everyone was in short sleeves. No ice in the coolers but we had to thaw out the beers enough to drink them.

I had my Pats coat, a sweatshirt, t-shirt, sweatpants and my snowmobile bibs, gloves and boots on and was downright comfortable. I remember there were a few guys in the upper deck behind us that were bare chested. I don't know if they were huddled under blankets whenever the camera wasn't on them or not.

Good times! :D

I was there! i hate to admit, we sat in the car, till about 10 min. before kickoff. my car gauge said 4 degrees

I remember the following week ( the AFC champ game ) it was like 33, and it felt like a heat wave!

I remember that wideout for the titans ( white-guy--forgot his name) made a crazy catch, right in front of us....and i was like o great...another 15 minutes

No shame in that, if not for the heated tent that's where we'd have been!

Re: Anyone here go to the Titans playoff game that was coldest in history for the Pat

I was there. It was cold, but the coldest game I've ever been at was the AFCCG in Pittsburgh before Super Bowl 39.

we were also at both games and when we left Heinz field that night and driving thru western PA the temp read -16 on the rearview mirror,I'll never forget the 2 people who sat next to us only lasted the first Quarter and were gone not us we went down to the sidelines after and joined the celebration I love the cold games it's true grit football in the elements

Re: Anyone here go to the Titans playoff game that was coldest in history for the Pat

Am I the only one who thinks the Titans, in that game, gave us the toughest competition we had in those years?

The Steelers, Colts, Panthers, Eagles, etc. did not compare to the Titans at all. They were really good.

I remember saying to my brother at the time that, if we beat the Titans, we win the Super Bowl.

Steve McNair was the man back then, not the washed up has-been we see now.

My favorite quote from Zach Piller--the same guy who said, "I'm freaking out"--after the game Piller said, "The Patriots suck. If they win the Super Bowl, I'm going to throw up."

Zach, I hope your wife made you clean it up.

I don't know that Panthers Super Bowl was pretty close (the Rams one was too but...) and very competitive and smash-mouth.
