Right now i think hes moved past Bradshaw, Staubach, Starr and Favre and i put him at #4 behind only Montana, Unitas, and Elway.

if he wins his 4th Super Bowl I move him up to # 3.

5 more years and he'll be # 1

If he wins SB #4 it will be an argument between only him and Montana, and I would put Brady ahead.

Elway?

What did Elway ever do to put him ahead?

Also, why include Unitas? If you include Unitas, might as well put Otto Graham up there.

He's #1. There is no one better, there won't ever be anyone better.

he's 1b. id put montana at 1a.

a super bowl win this year and they flip flop. one more after and there is no more discussion at all.

the other guys you mentioned dont belong in the discussion, especially elway.

Tied at the top w/ Montana, soon to pass him. IMO, there is no doubt about Brady being better than everyone else you mentioned.

Call me a homer if you want, but as far as I'm concerned, he's number 1. If you want to go with Montana and the Super Bowls, Brady can match that. If you want to go with statistics, he just had the best season ever. If you want to go with being a consummate teammate, nobody tops Brady. The only thing he doesn't necessarily have going for him right now is career statistics, which is more a reflecting on the wide receivers that he had prior to this season than anything else.

Before this season, you could use the stats argument to say that Brady wasn't the best. Not really the case anymore.

Elway also had some pretty mediocre years before the two SB championships. Unitas, and Graham were essentially in another era. For example, Unitas' lifetime passer rating was 78.2%, and he had 290 lifetime TDs and 253 Int's. Really hard to compare players that many years apart. To me, it's Joe and Tom now, or Tom and Joe. Pick'em.

Brady's the best. If Moss stays here for another 4 or 5 years, Brady might pass everyone in virtually every career stat.

Here's an amazing stat: Brady's TD-INT ratio is 2.29TD/INT. Montana's is 1.96TD/INT. Elway 1.32TD/INT. Unitis 1.14TD/INT. Marino 1.66TD/INT. Favre 1.53TD/INT. Peyton Manning 2TD/INT. Young 2.16TD/INT.

And I just realized how stupid the passer rating is. Phillip Freakin Rivers is ranked 14th all-time with an 86.6 passer rating. Higher than Marino, Favre, etc. Thats ******.

To me it is a Brady/montana coin toss at this point. We all see on TV the 4th qtr heroic drive by Elway, but, look at the number of 4th qtr come from behind wins for Brady and he blows the competition away.

Not even debateable in my mind except for maybe Tony Eason!!!!!!!!!!

Forget about Elway. He jumped out to a 10-0 lead in a Super Bowl and then managed to play poorly enough to allow the Redskins to have 5 possessions in ONE quarter!

montana once had a great quote on elway's large number of 4th Q comebacks... he laughed at the stat and said something to the effect of "you have to be LOSING in the 4th Q to make a 4th Q comeback"

elway wasnt even the leader of the donks when they won (with salary cap cheating violations)... those 2 teams were terrell davis' teams.

I don't understand the compulsion to rank athletes. All these QB's are great.

on a sports board, would you rather have us rank the 100 hottest women on the planet? (they'd all be hot)

Why no love for "Slingin" Sammy Baugh or Sid Luckman?

unitas i didnt see, so for me TB is #1 all time. as good a brain as montana but better arm, better brain than elway. elway probably could throw it a bit farther and harder, but tom is certainly no slouch, and i think his game management skills tip the balance in his favor

But Michael Vick can throw the ball pretty damn far and hard and he sucks.

And he's in jail.

He should be with Montana. Peyton should be very close too.
