I personally always thought that McDaniels would be foolish just to jump at the first head coaching job that comes his way. He will be a leading candidate for jobs for years to come and since this year looks slow for coaching vacancies, the next year or two will probably be plentiful.

McDaniels will get his shot at a head coaching job. Why just take anyone that comes his way especially when Belichick can continue to groom him.

only one year's experience as a co-ordinator and was not a very good one.

Yes, McDaniels is smart. There is plenty of time....he's only 31. It would be so easy, and probably likely, to have a head coaching fiasco at this age and level of experience. Why not wait a bit, learn more from the greatest ever, and continue to improve his resume?

Actually, wasn't he rumored to be at/near the top of the list for the Joakland job last year?

he may not be the best playcaller and he does make us angry at times as fans but i appreciate what he does and how hes handling this. There are more important things to him than being a HC right now. Hes fully focused here unlike some coaches that left (MANGINA). If he changes his mind later about looking at being a HC..thats fine i guess as long as he doesnt do it while were in process of winning games and as long as he doesnt try to take players/coaches away from us. I think he'll stay..i dont think he wants to go anywhere playoffs or not.

he realizes BB has built a team for the history. He realizes were dominating and this is a special place. His time will come as a head coach but being part of a team like this doesnt come around often

Agreed, and also, he has Brady, Moss, et al to run his play-calls. I think he also looked at Mangina and realized, that maybe, jsut maybe, in his early thrities he still has stuff to learn. Using BB and Brady to do so isn 't a bad gig...
