What the hell was that moron of a cab driver waiting on? That really would have pissed me off.

Traffic? In NYC, could that be?

I didn't see much traffic, but you might be right. He could have tried to move a little though. I guess this is part of the price one pays to be famous unfortunately.

More importantly why is he taken a cab at all, and why does he not have a car and a driver. I have been living in NYC taking cabs for the last 9 years. and tha last thing I want is our franchise QB in the back of a NY city cab. I have less fear of him on the playing field with an unblocked blitzer coming full speed at him, than I do seeing him in the back of a cab.

He was waiting because of the traffic. Anyone who has ever lived in NYC knows there is traffic ALWAYS.

I dont feel bad for Tom at all. I love the guy. He is the best ever , and the perks of being the greatest ever are far bigger then getting photographed because everyone loves you sometimes.

The guy is a rich legend who dates a supermodel and is world famous. I mean honestly you feel bad because he is getting his picture taken?

Traffic light? They have those in Manhattan.

If I was walking hand in hand with Gisele I wouldn't care if there were a thousand cameras, I'd still have a smile on my face!

Man, what a lucky cab driver LOL. I'd pay to drive Brady around.

Just guessing here but judging by what I have heard of NYC cabbies, I bet he had no idea who either of them were.

I used to live in NYC. Most cabbies barley speak English. The cabbie prolly had no idea. I mean obv he knew they where famous in general.

In NYC stars are not rare like around here. People get excited but they dont freak out. Half the people from Manhatten are not even from NYC.

New York cabbies; reminds of of the old joke about the guy who got into a cab and it smelled like three week old garbage and later that night, he discovered he lost his wallet.

He thought he might have left it in the cab, so he called the cab company and they tracked the cabbie down and gave the guy his number and when he called, the cabbies wife answered and said her husband could not come to the phone, he was in the shower, to which the guy replied "I guess I've got the wrong number"..................

1) they both know that if they walk the streets of ny they're going to be followed by paparazzi. lots of famous folk in the city who don't want to feel trapped by their celebrity or who want to be seen walk the streets and take taxis. many take the subways and buses. i've lived in the city for years and have seen celebs from bill cosby to the late katherine hepburn and jfk jr to ricky martin to steve martin and mia (years ago) to sarah jessica parker and mathew broderick on the street.

2) the cab was at an intersection so it was probably waiting for a red light

3) the most important thing to note and the only thing that should bother pats fans is that tb did not put on a seat belt. nyc taxis are risky in the back seat because of the thick lucite barrier between the front and back. knowledgeable new yorkers swallow their pride and put on a seat belt. there are, believe it or not, orthopedic and plastic surgeons in the city who specialize in nothing but repairing faces damaged when a cab stops suddenly, a not infrequent event.

as an nyc resident for 17 years, i could tell you stories about smelly cabs that would make you upchuck your lunch. however, most of these guys are just trying to make an honest living, after, by the way, entering the US legally. for most it's a first job that others think is beneath them, but many have put their kids through school and college or support families in other countries with the money they make. one of the most interesting things you can do as a visitor to new york is engage the driver in conversation. seven or eight out of ten speak good english and frequently have interesting stories to tell, including as asylum seekers or refugees from some pretty tough places. ever since giuliani's crackdown on the bad apples, continued by Bloomberg, nearly all are honest and law abiding.

celebs who live in new york are, by custom, big tippers when they take cabs, though it's unlikely that the driver would have know that brady was a celebrity without the paparazzi (who probably also hailed cabs and followed him).
