Good. I thought the mediots were going to be ***holes and give it to someone like Mike McCarthy (who in any other year would've deserved it) to stick it to Bill Belichick because of SpyGate. Thankfully they weren't crazy enough to deny him.

This is not the official award right? Isn't that going to be announced next week?

very sweet!!!!!!!!! of any of the meaningless post season awards, BB deserved this one, and i didnt think he would get it.

Ahh I didn't read too carefully, this is the "official" award, this article is just based on a poll of the voters, its not the actual announcement which is next week.

Thats great, the writers would have to major jackasses not to give it to BB.

I gotta think what Peter King said on Saturday night, and the way he said it cutting off some NY mediot spewing the usual, hit a nerve with quite a few of his 49 peers who had the AP ballot for COTY this year.

hmmm...still, if the article is correct...i called it :D

no way BB doesnt get it....

And it was 8 years ago today (1/3) that Belichick resigned as the "HC of the NYJ" setting all of this in motion :rocker:

I'm surprised, to be honest. I think Belichick has deserved it a number of years during his tenure here but considering how the whole spy thing was handled by the media and viewed by the public I did not expect it.

Good for BB.

BB's problem with winning COTY is this... COTY almost always goes to a team that was supposed to stink, but did ok, or great..... if you have a team that is supposed to be a SB contender, it is almost impossible to win the award (unless you go 16 and f*cking 0!)

see, i dont understand that...cuz then he won it in 03, but not 01???

**** Jauron won it in '01 because that was the year the Bears' revival began. But BB was second in the voting. Remember at that time the Patriots had no SB's under their belt, just a division title.

This is an interesting development, because all of the sports talk radio folks, have been pretty consistent saying that he would not win it and it would go to Mike McCarthy.. if he did he deserves it.

Anybody else think Brady has an outside shot at MVP?

The way Rivers has played he couldn't take the starting job from a JV quaterback.

when you reach an hystorical 16-0 you can not close the eyes

compliments to BB

I can't believe he actually won it. I am so happy for him. You can say that because we were Super Bowl faves, he shouldn't have, but I feel different.

Between the stupid media and their overreaction to the camera and all the pressure of being undefeated, I don't know if anyone could have done a better job of keeping these guys focused. I think it's great that a lot of collective media put their bias aside and gave it to him, never thought they would.

The flood gates are going to open now with disgruntled fans though, let the games begin.

Hard to imagine sports talk radio being incorrect. They set such a high standard.
