I had a similiar argument with a friend. He thought if the Pats lost it would be a disaster. I said in the present yes. But, 15yrs from now. When reflecting on the BB/Brady Era. Let's say we have won 4-5 championships. When the 07 season comes up. You will say, damn we had some good teams. But, our best one didn't win it all. You will be disappointed that we didn't win. But, still marvel at the accomplishment of going 16-0. Because, nobody else will probably do it between now and then. I hope thinking like Borges becomes a terminal disease. I'll get a check-up later this week just to make sure:)

I'm sorry, who wrote an article on the Pats? Someone important?

Could someone check the weather and see if Hell has frozen over?

WOW. I have to say that Borges does a great job defending the 16-0 record. And he does it without mention of Spygate, Harrison's faux paux, or any trashing of Brady, BB or other players.

I have to say that he might have learned a new trick.

He's an excellent writer when he wants to be.

It's not like he hasn't written glowing articles about the Pats before. It's the confounding twists of logic where he contradicts himself from article to article that makes him Wrong Borges.

Hard to argue with perfection, though.:D

I'll be disappointed if we lose; obviously. But if we do I will still celebrate and cherish this season. It's the first time ever for a substantial record. Had we won no Super Bowls I might feel differently. But with three already in the bag, if the unmentionable happens, the 16-0 regular season simply adds to the resume of this regime for me.

I have to say I thought it was a good article. It lacked the condescending tone that his articles used to have, maybe he just needed a change.

"Longtime Boston Globe football columnist Ron Borges now writes for Pro Football Weekly"

His new job is a perfect fit for him. He is now able to work abroad with the NFL and other majors sporting venues. I think he was pretty much just bitter while he was here because the Patriots wouldn't give him the inside scoops and interviews he wanted. Howewer he kind of earned his way out of their favor by the occassional cheap shots he would take at them to stir up trouble.

If he had been as patient as Reiss he may of gotten some kick back. Take the hint Felger.

I'm surprised no one has stated the obvious, clearly Borges did not write this article.

hehe

The conflicting twists of logic are the result of his deep seeded hatred for the hoodie. He loves football, and appreciates it in a way few who also write hereabouts ever will. When he doesn't let his anti belichick agenda color his perspective, or listen to the ramblings of uninformed sources with agendas or boobs the league has passed by, he generally nails it.

Unfortunately, Ron only comes as a package, and the bad has outweighed the good for too many seasons of a dynasty he should have felt priviledged as a sportswriter to have covered.

Great article! Been saying this all season.

Saying 16-0 means NOTHING if we don't go 19-0 is aboslutey ridiculous.

It means we had the greatest regular season of all-time but failed to extend that into the playoffs. Not “nothing”

Because of his plagiarism tendencies he may have stolen it from Tom Curran or another really good scribe.

He is so jealous of Belichick it's pitiful. I do remember him challenging Poodle Pete in a most unprofessional way too, though.

If I could hazard a guess, his break with reality when his paranoia started to overcome his writing talent was even earlier.

I think he thought he was going to be the next Will McDonough. He sucked up to Bledsoe and a few others and figured he was the "inside man".

When BB benched his Binky and sealed the locker room, he lost it completely, but he hasn't been a mentally healthy dude for a while IMO.

I agee that as far as writing talent and insight, he was the best on the Globe, when his evil agenda didn't cloud his mind.

If you were in New England today, you would know that hell has indeed frozen over.

I won't read anything by Bogus, no matter what it is!

He kneeleth before Zod!

Not a bad article. It would suck balls to not win the Super Bowl. But how can anyone argue that the Patriots were not the best team in the NFL in 2007-2008? Sometimes a team slips up. I just hope it doesn't happen for a long time.

All I have to say is, "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist."
