I'm not sure I don't like Connor more than Laurenaitis, but in any case, I think Jenkins or Gholston are more likely there.

Highly unlikely Pats take Connor at that draft pick or in the first round. He does not fit Pats scheme (Too small). He will goe as weak backer to 4-3 otr Tampa -2 defense. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats take Ghoulston or Jenkins from OSU even if Lauranitis is available.

I still think we need a monster pass rusher first and foremost, but.......

I saw Sedrick Ellis play tonight. At 6'1" and 305 lbs. he spent most of the game at NT over the center and simply had his way with the Illinios OL all night long. With a few more pounds and a couple of seasons in NT rotation with Wilfork, he could be very special. And we need a quality backup NT real bad.

We can't draft a backup NT with the 7th pick, and I'm not even sure Ellis will last that long since every high drafting team needs at least one DT and Ellis would be a good guy to have on any team.

I doubt we pick Connor.

Another site reaching to file the Patriots perceived "need" at LB. I guess they'll never learn. Also, if they pick any LB at 7th overall it's not going to be either of Laurinaitis or Connor.

Gholston's stock has improved and will improve even more after he works out.

Using the 7th pick:

Gholston, OSU
Long, Chris VA
Jenkins, OSU

or any of the top 5 that slide.

No thanks on either Big 10 ILB. Here's my working scheme:

Plan A: Vernon Gholston

Plan B: (if Gholston's off the board)
Trade down half a dozen slots in exchange for a swap of 2nd-round picks. Let's go with Chicago at #14 to give them their choice of QBs.
#14: Cornerback (should be good talent/value here)
#45: Luxury pick of impact player who slid
#65: Nevada linebacker of your choice

Jenkins (OSU)and Gholston (OSU) both need to declare before they can be considered for the draft. To my knowledge, they haven't.

Also, please keep in mind that the Patriots do their own scouting and that the websites out there should only be used as a general guidline as to where players are ranked.

As for DraftKing.com, this is the first I've heard of them. Not sure how he rates, but here is a comparison from The Huddle Report:

Rich Gosselin, who works for the Dallas Morning News, has been the most consistent at guessing which teams are going to pick which players.
