I just watched Adam S on NFL.COM, he said one of the things they use to determine draft position for a team is the winning records of teams they've played, the more wins those teams have, the lower in the draft they fall. He said, because of the Pats, they Jets will be picking at #6, when they might have been picking as high as #3.

PRICELESS

Nice point. The fact that a couple extra wins this year by our team increases the chances that McFadden is playing in some other division is a nice extra benefit to the undefeated season.

Another great MangIdiot moment....

Without ManJudas, Spygate never happens... and without Spygate the rest of the football world doesn't "question the validity" of the Patriots previous Super Bowls, thereby rallying Brady and the rest of the team to answer those questions and defend their honor with the goal of a perfect season.

And of course, without a Patriots perfect regular season, the Jets weaker strength of schedule puts them in contention for the #3 pick in the draft.

Poetic.

Suck down that cheese, rat man!

Well, it was within their control. If they had lost to the Chiefs, they'd be picking third and we'd be 6th.

The jesters still pick just ahead of us in the first round. I hope that they don't draft another David Harris or Darrelle Revis, or make the trade that we wanted to make with #7.

I really don't think we have anything to worry about; in fact it may even help that they pick ahead of us since they'll remove some deadwood from the draft (based on the below video):

Good point that our winning hurts our division rivals' SOS. :)

Mangini and Tannenbaum are not the clowns who ran the show before. Two solid drafts in two years so far, now FA is another story.

You never did get around to changing your screen name so that you spell Genius correctly? Surely you see the irony there!

Of course irony is what this situation's all about - not only does the 16 Patriots wins help the Jets but any Patriots loss (i.e. another team's win) would potentially have raised the SoS of one of their fellow 4-12 teams. So that .007 mark could have been made up very easily.

Thanks to MangIdiot spurring the Pats to 16-0 you've got the 6th pick instead of the #3. There is some justice I guess!

never got around to changing my name, I have monitored the boards but I have not posted in months. I find it hard to believe that spygate was the motivation behind 16-0. Your freee to take pleasure in feeling that way but I just don't see it. Could it just be that you guys were better then all the teams you played? Regarding the Jets picking 6. Its two ways to view the draft pick collapse to 6:

Jets fans Point of view: We ****ed ourselves over by beating the chiefs. we can never win or lose when we need to

Pats fan point of view: Whooppee 16-0 screwed up their SOS.

edit: Ian has not been on since 12/22. A thank you to anyone who I knows who I can pm to change my name

either way I expected a turn for the worse
