Sorry if there was a thread on this already.

I remember when Manning broke Marino's TD record they made a big deal about showing us the congrats that Manning got from Dan.

I know the Colts played last night but they didn't play Saturday night and I don't remember seeing a little conference call or something to the effect of a public congrats from Manning to Brady.

I may seem like a small thing or even insignificant but considering how people like to call the Colts and Manning "classy" this would seem like the thing to do.

I'm not really sweating it or freaking out about it but it's the principal of the thing.

Nah, he was too busy filming a commercial.

Probably so. They are close friends.

I'm sure Brady's record will not be validated until Manning's blessing is bestowed.

I mean really, why do you care about this sort of thing?

Because the media made a big deal out of the Marino/Manning thing when it happened. It's more about proving that there's a double standard when it comes to the Pats in the media.

The Kings of Class (Colts) should take show the Cheatriots what it means to be classy. (I'm kidding of course).

the media doesnt seem to care about that, which is what i think your point was. them bastid colts...they get all the breaks, the favoritism, BUT WE GOT THE RINGS!! HAHA!

True enough. Hopefully the D will use this extra week off to rest and prepare for the run to AZ. They weren't that great on Sat. I'm interested to see how the Giants do against a comparatively rested Tampa Bay squad.

I think they are pretty good friends, I am willing to bet he did.

Manning has a lot more class than the 1972 dolphins, for example.

If you know you are great and are sonfident in yourself, you're not afraid to share the spotlight.

The 72 dolphins realize that although they were undefeated, they played a very weak schedule and they have nothing else to hold onto.

i get the impression that these guys text or call each other pretty often. i'll also bet that they keep the conversation private so we'll just have to wonder.

He'll probably release a statement in the next day or two, but I bet he personally did congratulate him. I always got the impression that Brady and Manning were on good terms.

I don't know. Look at Sieglo's sig block. :D

No question about it. Earlier in the season Manning was asked about the possibility of Brady breaking the record. He had some very nice words about both Brady and Marino, and how he hoped to follow Marino's model of graciousness.

Yes, the double standard is that the Pats hog more media attention than about 20 other teams combined. Can you accept the fact that not everybody in the media is in love with our team and just move on?

You aren't proving anything except what a crappy journalist you'd make on the national level.

I guess I'll have to recall my resume that I submitted to the New York Times, USA Today and the Washington Post.

They spend a week together fishing during the summer or something. He'll probably call him and personally congratulate him.

I am still waiting for the public congratulations from Manning. I figured after last night's game he'd do it in his post game comments... but I've read nothing.

Why is it such a big deal to you? Are you Tom Brady?

And if it happens will you call Manning a class act?

Who said it was a big deal to me ?

I just think the classy thing to do when someone breaks one of the most storied records in the game that you previously held is to congratulate them publicly. Marino did it, so should Manning.

Why is a big deal to you what I think ? Are you my wife ?
