What about Mike Martz? We know he loves our offense and had experience with the jv version of it in St. Louis.

Re: When Josh Mcd. Leaves

Martz would be a bad fit here, his ego is too big to be shrunk to fit into this organization.

Not sure Josh is going anywhere right now, I think he might stay around for another year... even though he has done a good job, if I were an owner I would have to think about this for a while after the Manhandjob debacle in New York. Just because you are a part of the Pats system, does not mean you will be a great HC.

Re: When Josh Mcd. Leaves

We don't need an OC.

BB will just tell Brady: Pass it to moss, sometimes welker and every now and then hand it off to maroney.

Bite your tongue. We don't need or want Martz. BB won't bring in anybody that will modify the offense. He wants an in house candidate or someone that has familiarity with the current offense.

Re: When Josh Mcd. Leaves

No. Martz wants to put his personal stamp on an offense, regardless of whether it is necessary or not. They've been talking a lot about him here as his firing is imminent, and he refused to take the instruction of Marinelli to adapt to the head coach's system.

Re: When Josh Mcd. Leaves

I'm glad the rest of you covered it. I don't know what part of this is BB's offense and he doesn't need some outsider poking his nose into it with his own terminology and philosophy some folks just don't grasp. You only hire an OC like that when you don't have a successful offense of your own already established. And these guys struggle like a rookie when asked to come in and adapt to run an offense that isn't their own.

Whenever Josh goes, and I don't think it will be for at least another season, there will be someone behind him already on staff who gets elevated to the position. Unless of course by then Charlie has had enough of the college life and decides to do an encore with his boy.

Re: When Josh Mcd. Leaves

Martz is supposedly going to San Fransisco. Anyway, his ego will never allow him to work under BB...

Re: When Josh Mcd. Leaves

Troy Brown ... :D

Seriously, I hope he stays in the orginization.

Re: When Josh Mcd. Leaves

BB and Martz would be like oil and water, thank god! There is no room for idiots on this team.

Re: When Josh Mcd. Leaves

To answer the question, you would have to know when he is leaving and who is available at that time.
Better than another "Maroney sucks" thread i guess.

Re: When Josh Mcd. Leaves

I would love that Have McDanials saty another year have Troy learn under him and BB then promote him when Parcells steals JM

1) There is zero evidence that Troy Brown would want to be a coach.

2) There is zero evidence that Troy Brown would be a good coach.

3) Troy Brown had said (often) that he has no interest in being a coach.

4) If Troy wanting to start coaching, Belichick would not start him at OC. He would start as an assistant position coach, as many others have.

CONCLUSION
If Josh goes, Troy Brown will not replace him. BTW, an OC is a very important postion on the team. I would expect the promotion to come from within, likely the TE coach.

Re: When Josh Mcd. Leaves

I don't think BB will ever hire someone not in "the Family". He will just hire the next guy on the totem pole working on the team. One option is the assistant coach they hired from Duke last year (i forget his name). Also, was Weis in for an interview on Saturday? :D

I don't think McD is going anywhere for a while anyway. Teams don't want to pull a Mangina and sign a young former Patriots assistant. Give him a few years more years to prove himself

Mangurian, indeed, seems like the logical candidate. I'm surprised Belichick didn't hire a QB coach when McDaniels became OC just for the sake of continuing the coaching development program.

Re: When Josh Mcd. Leaves

I think it's more of a thing they want him to say with thae pats in some way
