I think he will, especialy if we win the super bowl. But he will need to take a discount from his salary. If you see moss go i think chad johnson is going to be with the patriots.

I think the Pats would resign Moss for a higher salary if at all possible. I'd say that Stallworth most likely would not be back in that case.

Moss take a discount in salary? He will make slightly more I'd say. We signed him for not that much considering what we got from him. Stallworth will probably go or take a pay cut which I see him going somewhere where he will shine more. Moss will be back.

Hey, another new record.

This time it's for the most threads in a week asking the same question.

I tend to agree with you. Yet, playing devil's advocate; what about signing Asante Samuels? Also, we need to start replacing Tedy and Junior.

At this point, asking if Moss will be back is like asking if Tom Brady will be back. Seriously.

Of course he will and Moss is 3 times the receiver Chad Johnson is.

Yes. Of course he will. 99.9999%.

The question is, how much will will his contract harm the team. That's really up to him at this point. Pats will pay a LOT to keep him if they need to. Let's hope it doesn't get to that.

Bryant Gumbel (I think) said last night Moss has earned all his incentives - and it sounded like he said $32M! But that can't be right ... can it? One would think most if not all his incentives would be NLTBE (considering his stats last year) so they would count against next years cap... right?

Ehhhhhh....

Are you seriously going to argue that Chad Johnson is better than Moss?

Randy Moss. The guy who is openly being talked about as the GOAT and just broke Jerry Rice's record?

I like Chad Johnson and he's an excellent WR. But he is not Moss. Not even close.

He said two million. Those reached incentives will be used in the calculation to determine the Patriots' 2008 adjusted cap number.

In 2000? You'd get no argument. Randy Moss in 2007? There's a legitimate one. Moss made some great catches this year, but I think Johnson would have made most of them too... same for Larry Fitzgerald or Reggie Wayne.

Moss is worth big bucks and he will get it. Period. And he will get it from the Pats. In my opinion.

Keyword: "Most"

The plays that Moss makes that no one else could make is what makes him Moss. One handed "Air Jordan" against Indy. His takeaway over the defender's head in the Steeler's game. The behind the shoulder jump shot at the end of the end-zone at the beginning of the year (can't remember which game). The fact that he can draw triple coverage and still come up with the ball.

And frankly, he's been a far better team player than Chad has been or would be. He's blocked well, worked hard and not set himself above the rest of the team or other receivers in any other way.

All of that adds up to him being the better player, athlete and teammate.

Moss will tell his agent.............. Meet with the Pats FO and get me as good deal as you can, but bottom line. GET ME A DEAL, I'm not going anywhere.

BB/Pioli will go in with the mindset, lets try to get the best deal for the team, but BOTTOM LINE, lets GET A DEAL done. He's not going anywhere.

So with that mindset, common ground will be found. Moss will make a lot more than he did this year, but will offer a discount so as not to handcuff the team too badly. I'd be surprised if there isn't an "in principle" agreement already.

Thats simply not true...those guys dont have the length, speed, and height to do what Moss has done for the Pats. Moss is the only receiver who has been able to consistently beat double coverage and get those long passes that he does. No one comes close to duplicating him as a deep presence, he's the best deep threat in the league BY FAR.

Chad Johnson had double diigit TDs ONCE, when he had 10 in 2003. Moss has had seasons of 23, 17, 17, 15, 14, and 10 TDs. Moss has always been the better WR, and he's only a year older, so playing the age card doesnt really work either.

More than anything, I think Randy Moss would play for BB even if it means playing for the Saskatchewan RoughRiders.......

I think Moss will be back for the first playoff game. Well I sure hope he is. Good thing it's home huh?

You do NOT want ocho cinco and all the baggage he brings with him.

And FYI he had a lot of drops this year. In clutch situations. And even when it was clearly his fault, he proceeded with his body language blaming Palmer.

Moss is head and shoulders above him as a receiver (literally and figuratively ;)
