Let history be the judge how good this Pats team is, but other teams have fought hard and deserve respect.

The Giants are the latest team who fought with pride and I have to give them and their fans regards. There are no losers last night. The Giants gained tremendous confidence. NY media really lauded their team and Tom Coughlin.

My colleague who is a non-homer Giants fan, fully expected this kind of game. This is typical for any big underdog home team in big game, they play with heart and always exceed expectation.

That said, my colleague wanted to convey his respect to the Pats for this accomplishment. This is what he said, to any haters and ignoramuses out there who belittled this accomplishment, tell them try flipping a coin and get 16 heads or tails in a row... (well, I disagree with this analogy but promise to post anyway, because I was 1-6 against him on the Pats :) )

Tell your colleague that there was a LOT of respect earned by his Giants last night.

They didn't have to put out all that effort and they played VALIANTLY.

I'm not sure anyone truly expected that they would be that hyped up for this game and that Coughlin would play it like such a death match.

I'm so much more happy today that the Pats dug down and still beat a stirred up playoff team playing the game as if it were sudden death.

THAT is what made last night's win so special and meaningful. It would have still been sweet about the undefeated season, but really would have been a bit bittersweet if the Giants had merely laid down and played their bench.

Kudos to Coughlin and the Giants.

whatever.... they lost.... losers don't get respect

It's more credit to the Pats that they inspire their opponents to play well above their usual game. Seriously. Eli looked like a Pro-Bowler last night. Kyle Boller, AJ Feely, guys get up to play the Pats because they need to play well to survive. I do give them credit for giving the Pats a tough game, though I knew it would be a good game when everyone said it would be easy ;)

Also, my colleague thought the Pats missed Colvin badly. Hmm?

Although pleased with Eli, (he was never Eli's fan) he didn't give Eli full credit, but that the Pats D were sloppy. FWIW.

GREAT job by the Giants last night. At one point I was thinking, "Well, if we have to lose, I'm glad it's this way - to a team getting amped up for us and deserving to beat us." Glad it didn't work out that way - especially since I'm now in NYC, spending a week here - but I was really impressed with them.

Yes. Career days for those QBs! (Eli had a better rating than Tom last night).

BTW, by "everyone", you mean Pats' fans?
Non-Pats fans picked the Giants (bettors and sharp money picked the Giants mostly). Any team can play tough and competitive to any team if they give their best. Only homeric fans would think otherwise ;) .

I hope you are kidding. The Giants played with a lot of heart and were 1/2 of a really great football game last night. I'm happy to give my respect and regards to their coach and team.
