while we're handing out credit and annointing unsung heroes..

how about ghostkowski goin perfect on his field goals, one from 45.

if he misses any we may not win.

quietly, he has been better than you know who this season... and hes not kicking in a dome. pats once again make the correct bold decision

Hell yes. I was thanking Gostkowski for every field goal he made (and I think they all went down the middle). :eat1:

Good on the Ghost. He really came through tonight.

The kid had a great night, he is slowly building my confidence in him.

came through again tonight.

His longest was 45 yards, was 3/3 fg and 3/3 xpc.

He put them right over the middle each time, granted it wasn't a game winning kick or anything, but really performed well.

Hope he won't have to find himself in the position to have to kick a game winner but i think he would put it over if he did find himself with one.

He earned mine more or less completely with that 50-yarder in San Diego in the playoffs. [I personally believe that had that kick missed, the net result would have been something like 38-14 San Diego.]

Re: Stephen Gostkowski tonight

He's underrated because he never has to make clutch kicks and he rarely has to even attempt long kicks. Really he underrated because because he is relatively underused. We don't get shut down barely in field goal territory often. Best reason in the world to be underrated as a kicker.

also a clutch fg late against indy the next week. it was no gimme either if i recall correctly, over 40.

in fact wasnt he perfect in the playoffs?

definately has my confidence

Re: Stephen Gostkowski tonight

I was please with the accuracy, gun-barrel straight!

Re: Stephen Gostkowski tonight

I was all over Got's all week and I take back what I said. He's a good up and coming kicker. He did a nice job tonight for us. Kicking in Giants Stadium isnt exactly the easiest place to kick in.

kicking in gillette is even tougher
he definitely had a very nice game for us tonight

In really lousy weather conditions, I'd still rather have Adam then any of the younger, stronger kickers coming up.

Otherwise, Gostowski is the better of the two kickers.

He's underrated because he never has to make clutch kicks and he rarely has to even attempt long kicks.

He made a clutch 43 yard FG against Indy last year in the AFCCG with just 3:53 left in the game. The FG put us ahead by three, but unfortunately it didn't help our defense.

Re: while we're handing out credit and annointing unsung heroes..

We have two Gost threads. I vote for a merge.

Re: while we're handing out credit and annointing unsung heroes..

mine was first! :D

Re: Stephen Gostkowski tonight

It was the 37 yder I was sweating. That's been his bugaboo. Great game for the Ghost.

Yes I am happy with his production but when your in the red zone you must score touchdowns. The Pats dominated the first half but were down by 5 pts because they left 8 pts on the table. If they lost that would have been the story.

Oh, yeah, me too.

In 2001.

Gost was key last night. I'll forgive the short kickoff.
But let's not praise Gost too much because then opposing fans will claim, "Well you only won by a FG. If Brady wasn't just a system QB, you'd win by TDs." :)
