Burress: "That was one of the worst officiating I have seen"

Re: Burress:"That was one of the worst officiating i have seen"

i dont know these 3 plays youre speaking of. i only remember the timeout play, the clock did go to zero, but as collinsworth said the qb's are normally given the benefit of the doubt on those. and the 'pushoff', i saw the giants db complaining to the ref, but on the replay i saw no pushoff.

refs were as fair as u could ask... i think we got a raw deal on the celebration personal foul and i think the giants got a raw deal on the personal foul on toomer, looks to me like merriweather just tripped over himself they thought he was shoved down. those were the ONLY calls i can recall being blown in this game.

Actually, the plays I was speaking of werent even mentioned by the announcers (other than that obvious one). The other two delays were in the first quarter (I believe). I think the blown calls balanced out, however, you forgot the "finger in the eye." That should have been 15..easy.

Re: Burress:"That was one of the worst officiating i have seen"

Buress had an offensive pass interference that was not called.

His team benefited from the most incomprehensible officiating I ever saw, just before the half.

The ref called time out, stopping the game as the players milled about. Then he charged the Pats with a delay of game ten or fifteen seconds later. Then he gave the timeout back to the Giants.

Then he did not run off any time on the clock that he had stopped erroneously. So in effect the Giants got an extra timeout.

If he had let the clock run and then called the penalty, time would have run out on a subsequent play before the Giants scored.

If he had not given the timeout back, the time would have run out before the Giants scored.

At the minimum he should have run some time off the clock based on the sequence of events, and the penalties he called. But he did not do so. The Pats got screwed.

Buress is a jerk. And Cower knew it when he got rid of him.

Actually, that's "finger in the fasemask" - let's not make up things that didn't happen.

Don't you guys get it? It's the officiating.
That's why the Pats are 16-0!

Wow, now that's splitting hairs. Looked like he got him in the eye to me, but it doesnt really matter. His intent was to get him in the eye. Pretty weak IMO.

yea, i forgot abt the wilfork play.

i know the plays ur talkign about werent mentioned, im just sayin i dont remember any where it said 0 on the clock. and i definately was watching the play clock each time they showed it. maybe when they replay the game i'll look out for it.

Im not making excuses about the refs, Giants didnt win cause the pats converted a bunch of key 3rd and longs. But dont act like the Pats didnt get the benefit of some calls tonight

The phantom personal foul on Amani Toomer who did absolutely nothing as Brandon Merriweather fell to the ground on his own, was the worst call ive ever seen in a football game. the official was standing right there too. Wilfork poking Jacobs in the eye TWICE and not getting a penalty? The delay of game where Brady called a TO clearly after the clock was at 0 and they gave him the TO?

the worst call you've ever seen?

obviously you missed the Indy/Pats game from earlier this season

Giving a player a 15 yard personal foul for standing there and twittling his thumbs while Brandon Merriweather falls down in front of him would qualify as one of the worst calls ive ever seen, yes

They were pretty close, but I think the snaps were late. Seems like Brady likes to take the snap at the very last second, is that his norm?

Calling the most penalty yardage in team history before the END OF THE THIRD QUARTER sort of DWARFS your isolated incident argument

oh yea... aside from when we are running the no huddle he does cut it close quite a bit.

I think karma can be a little blind at times. Apparently she was taking out on Eli-Eli-Oh Sh#@** what she should have dished out to Paymetons. :D

**BTW--thank you to whoever came up with Eli-Eli-Oh. I like my version better, though. :)

What? Unless im reading you wrong your post is just simply wrong

Pats had 42 yards of penalties tonight. Thats a team record? hard to figure how considering its below their season per game average

Giants didnt lose the game because of the refs. But the Pats did get some calls tonight. If the Giants could have gotten a stop on one of those huge 3rd down plays (the watson catch late in the 3rd with you down 12, or the moss td when butler completely blew the coverage in the 4th) then they could have won. But they didnt

good game, congrats on 16-0, hope we meet again

A little off-topic but why was it still second and 6 after the holding call on Toomer holding Hobbs when it was second and six before the holding call. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't holding a 10 yds. penalty

losers always have an excuse

its 10 yards at the spot of the foul. Toomers hold didnt occur at the line of scrimmage

yes...you read it wrong...the Patriots were flagged for the most penalty yards in TEAM HISTORY by the end of the 3rd quarter IN THE INDY GAME. I'd say THAT dwarfs your isolated one call incident...by a QUANTUM FACTOR
