this man absolutely shined tonight as he has all season and deserved the Pro Bowl more than anything.

thank god he is on our team and helps us make those first downs, he is truly unbelievable!

Congrats Pats on 16-0 and lets keep on winning right through Arizona! :rocker:

"I can't believe we traded for a receiver with 1 career TD!" :D

Dude has game.

And, threw in a 7th rounder to boot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember however many arguments we had about giving up a 2nd and 7th for him (something like that). What a bunch of d!cks we were. Hell, knowing what I know now, I'd have given a 1st for him.

112 rec / 1175 yds............... Dude, those are sick slot numbers.

He always comes up big. He and I were both wearing #83 tonight. And he made me proud as always.

I know Wes is short for Wesley but I never saw him use Wesley anywhere. Anyone know for sure? Probably a stupid question.

I for one, always expected him to set the club record for catches his first year....

Those are sick numbers period..for any WR. Definetely a great season. The perfect compliment to Moss.

I loved the trade, and thought he'd be good, but not this good. He's really special.

which quarter was it they were talking about what a 'quiet' game he was having?

that didnt last long

Wait, where are the folks that said his ~10. ypc was a sign of weakness?

NFL All-time single-season receptions:

Marvin Harrison - 143
Herman Moore - 123
Cris Carter - 122 (twice)
Jerry Rice - 122
Isaac Bruce - 119
Tory Holt - 117
Jimmy Smith - 116
Marvin Harrison - 115
Rod Smith - 113

Hines Ward, Jerry Rice, Jimmy Smith, Sterling Sharpe and Wes Welker with 112.

Only ten times in NFL History has a player finished the season with more catches than Welker did this season. Look at the names on that list.

Assuming T.J. Houshmandzadeh has less than 10 catches, Welker will lead the NFL in receptions.

Remarkable.

Zackly, my point was mostly to say that, as the slot guy, he's generally not gonna be our number 1 (or even two in the traditional sense), and he's not. Clearly Moss is the number 1, but having WW put those kind of numbers, on this team, with our depth at WR is just mind-boggling to me.

Even more remarkable: the Patriots might have the WR with the most TD catches, and the WR with the most receptions--and they'd be two different players. :)

Everybody has his role!

Meanwhile, it seems that playing with Moss is really good for a guy's catch count. :)

WW will be a key member to our team's success going forward with Brown and Faulk getting older. We need a dependable third down guy...and WW is that guy.

He is awesome....

Wes is da man! I love what he does, he just plays so hard and so well. He doesn't let much deter him. He's another A-mazing Patriot!
