Wanted to make sure this wasn't lost in the mix. A bunch came on special teams. But this is a solid contribution by the rookie.

Re: Meriweather- 7 tackles

I think Brandon is going to be a good to great player for us.
Hope he can step it up in the play offs.

Re: Meriweather- 7 tackles

Those two lousy draft picks Maroney and Meriweather. Oh, that was the thread earlier this month. Not this one. Two young players who will prove to be solid NFL players.

Re: Meriweather- 7 tackles

he did good...i think he will be a great tandem after rodney is gone

sanders-meriweather....

i think meriweather will become the next greatest safety...or cloes to it

Re: Meriweather- 7 tackles

He seems to be tackling with so much more authority too. Amazing what a bit of confidence can do.

Shh!! NSA, the moronic troll will tell you you're wrong!

Re: Meriweather- 7 tackles

may i also add that he led the team in tackling.

While clearly he's improving, let's not get ahead of our selves. Sanders is starting to step up and really brings the lumber. It will be interesting to see who's back next year.

it wont be Wilson i'll tell u that

Wilson is this team's best cover safety. His slipping today on that pass doesn't change that. He may not be back, but that doesn't change that fact. Now, if Meriweather develops, he may change that part of the equation, because he should develop that kind of coverage ability as well.

i never said he wasnt. but with Meriweather showing signs .. have 2 good starters already. theres no need for Wilson who could make decent money since there arent many good FA Safeties out there this year

Interesting that Wilson seemed to be playing ahead of Sanders. (I infer this from when Rodney was yanked for a couple of plays late after the personal foul, and Sanders was sent in in his place.) Or was it more of a rotation? I guess we'll know after Reiss posts his numbers.

#31 will be a top safety in these league within 2-3 years.

He's a rookie. He plays for a team that maximizes DB talent and is the top talent we've seen in some time.

By his play, it should be obvious that he is deferring his talent and previous teaching to his new team.

He hasn't killed the world as of yet.

Pees talked about the safety position a few days back. He noted that Wilson would have been starting if he hadn't been injured, but that Sanders had played well enough to be in the rotation.

I noticed some of those tackles, and thought he played well. That hit on the sideline was strong, and the player wasn't out of boards at the time of first contact, either. Meriweather's also been wrapping up well, which is always something you like to see out of your defenders.

That kid can hit. Some of his tackles on teams were freakin' bone crunchers. I, for one, have not given up on this guy. Not even a little.

This year, Harison is the best coverage safety with Sanders as a close second.

Meriweather is looking pretty good, and that late hit penalty was complete crap.

He was really laying some lumber out there, I think I feel confident to let Assante go, he cost us 2 touchdown's one to Plaxico and one to Kevin Boss with his guessing.
Yes he makes big play's but that game his aggressiveness was used against him we have alot of mid round picks that Beoli loves to use on defensive backs at least in the past.
