They fought very hard played all out and made the Patriots truly earn their perfect regular season.
this makes the win taste that much better.

Manning played a hell of a game tonight.

Absolutely. They never rolled over, and fought till the end. Fortunately for us, it wasn't enough.

Both teams created the perfect competitive environment for all those records to be broken, allthough tempers flared once in a while, and The Giants deserve credit for that. Compared to what we experienced some weeks ago against the Skins, I would emagine that most on here would have few problems supporting their playoff push starting next week.

I know for certain that I will.

played a heck of a game? 7 of their points came on special teams.

the first drive he had was good, but 52 yards of it was on a bomb.

when the pressure came he folded like a lawn chair

i think it was a typical giant game. they are a good team but so inconsistent. the pats have taken teams best games and have beat them down and beaten them in the end.

look at the giants losing mitchell, ohara, and madison.

Why isn't anyone talking about that? Even had the Jints won this game, they're hurting going into the playoffs. You can talk about building momentum and confidence all you want, but it's tough to be your best without three starters while the opposition has been resting up and studying you from the comfort of their own home.

anyone think coughlin wanted to sit his guys, but gave into 'peer pressure'?

if any of those injuries linger into next week, it will really look bad on coughlin imo

Manning was overrated and choked tonight.

Wonder where he gets that from?

The bird turd doesn't fall far from the tree.

you could tell the giants were amped up for this game, but also look at time of possession. pats had the ball 36 minutes.

will this have a lingering effect for next week?

will they be emotionally exhausted?

Yeah, I think Coughlin was a damned fool. Was listening to NY WFAN last night and the guy who was on after Mike and the Maddog was begging him to rest the starters. Now he's got three starters dinged up.... Stupid.

Ummmmm, I qive them credit. The best gamer they played all year, but in the end they lost, and for what. Coughlin will be round criticized (rightly so) if those 3 are not 100 % next week and unable to go.

They are idiots, Coughlin will get the boot.

The Giants deserve all the credit in the world. They came to play , 3 more to go

i think coughlin was in a no win situation. you have to play players. you just don't have enough backups to fill all the starter rolls.

they chose to slug it out with the pats. it was fine for 3 quarters but midway through third they wore down.

They will lose. Mark it down.

This is the story of our season. We get every team's best shot and then they collapse for a week or more.

Hindsight's always 20/20 - but I give Coughlin credit. He's got a suspect team in the playoffs as it is. If he could knock off the Patriots what an incredible boost of confidence he'd be giving his team.

The Playoffs are all about momentum. It was a great coaching move by Coughlin in my opinion to roll the dice and actually play the game of football the way it should be played.

We'll see what the report is, but for some guys like the Center, its not like he's going to be sitting his OL and playing his backup Center in this game period. With 45 guys starters are going to play and all are at risk simply by being on the field.

I'm personally glad the Giants brought it tonight so nobody can say we were handed the last game. The national media is going to give them full props this week. They might have lost Madison, O'Hara and Deion said a 3rd starter but I'm not sure who. That's a huge price to pay for a game you didn't need. WHEN the Bucs beat them in round one the same mediots who will applaud the Giants this week are going to rip them after that. Book it.

The Giants played a helluva game.
Hopefully they're players will be all right next week.
I won't say I was never worried in this game.

mitchell- a linebacker

the giants aren't capable of playing 60 minutes. they played well for about 45-50 minutes.

but at the end the clock management was remenicent of donovan mcnabb

There was no way Coughlin could pull starters at any point in that game. He would have lost the respect of every player on the Giants. IMO he did what he had to do.

Thankfully this is the last team that will play us so loose and carefree with a "nothing to lose" attitude. Looking forward to playing playoff teams that are in the same exact position as the Pats.

i had to go back and do the calculation... if miami loses next week our opponents are 4-12 the week after playing us.

2 of those wins were against miami, 1 against the jets, 1 against the vikes (before they went on their winning streak)

tampa is resting their guys tomorrow... doesnt look good for nyg. however, like marsha faulk just said, if they play like this they can beat any nfc team
