tom, kevin, randy, wes, they all had incredible games. maroney averaged 2.3 yards per carry, but those runs looked nice. all the hits in the backfield, i believe they were the fault of the offensive line (which is an entirely different subject). every time he ran and didnt get hit in the backfield, he nailed the hole with no hesitation. a lot of the qualities that were irking me about him earlier in the season are starting to disappear, and he is running his ass off. IMO, best 46 yards he's ever gotten.

I have to go with Kevin Faulk as the unsung hero. He got some BIG first downs.

I gotta go with Faulk too.
EVERYONE saw Lomo run for those TDs.;)

No doubt. The one thing I agree with Collinsworth is that he has become the new Troy Brown. The completely unsung constant contributor. I know Welker is a similar receiver, but he is obviously more talked about.

faulk is not unsung in all our eyes:cool: he is the freakin best, our own reggie bush.

Chris called him a "special player."
I gotta agree

Maroney is starting to show that he can do a lot with decent blocking.

We don't need him to be perfect, we just need more of his good ten yard runs and goal line mojo.

Faulk took many years to show his potential, and it was because the coaching staff knows when to hold them, and when to fold them. They kept Faulk around to earn his keep.

Maroney is starting to be a factor in each game.

Here's to a good playoffs for maroney! :rocker:

There were lots of guys who redeemed themselves for big plays after not playing so well.

Maroney's lack of momentum for SO MANY runs was incredibly frustrating to watch and I was getting quite disgusted.

But I have to be fair and ask if it was poor play calling - or poor OL play (it can be tough for an RB to have momentum if he's given the ball and then finds himself face to face with Giants linemen behind the line of scrimmage) or Maroney's indecision.

Probably a little bit of all of it - but while I'm glad Maroney redeemed himself I think the Defense that allowed the offense to have 20+ unanswered points until the 4th Q TD for the Giants collectively deserves this ball.

I'm with you on this one. Maroney performed well, but Kevin Faulk carried the team to needed first downs and kept key drives going.

We've seen all of these starters do stuff like this before. They deserve a great deal of credit, but Ryan O filled a big pair of shoes tonight. He's my unsung hero.

Two years ago there were people on this board saying that Faulk would get cut and we would keep Patrick Pass instead. :bricks:

Probably the same people who were hating on Maroney this year.

I was furious at the offensive line. Sorry but I can't at all blame Maroney when he is getting met head on by about 2-3 defenders in the backfield the second the ball is handed off to him. He runs hard near the goal line which I like a lot.

A lot of them on second effort, too. Not to mention his blitz pick-up against the best sack team in the league.

Maroney?!?!?! You MUST be blotto...

Kevin Faulk was the real unsung hero.

You must have seen the same game as I did... the running game got my throat very sore tonight, and I have to pray extra tonight from all of my bad words.

Our run game is bizarre. They either blow a hole in the defense, or a linebacker just about takes the handoff from Brady.

It'll improve next year I'm sure, as Maroney is a different style runner than Dillon. He seems to be running hard and improving and has good upside.

Seems to be better with a running start.

They need to work on that zone blocking in practice.

They were awful chippy and took unnecessary penalties, but i think they had a lot of pressure. I'm sure they'll work on that and on kick returns which were brutal.

Gostkowski was money. Straight down the middle.

I don't see how you can blame Maoney for the Oline's ineptitude.

Watch those runs again and you'll find that the problem wasn't Maroney. Belichick was singing his praises on WEEI on the postgame show.

I think the defense was using some Madden Nano Blitzes, LOL.

When Maroney had some decent blocking he looked great. I like the kid more and more every week, he's got some fire in him.

Some of it I can!!!!

The oline DID play very bad.

And the play calling wasn't that great either!

However, 16-0 makes me feel warm inside still.
