I'm probably the happiest person here about this news, since I've been a big Spann fan since I met him last summer.

As for the OL thinness, I imagine if things get too bad Brady will be pulled.

I fergot he was here then. Tell us about it.

Spann probably activated as a ST replacement for Eckel.

The FO should release Gutierrez, and try to sign him to the PS.

This team needs healthy bodies more than it needs a 3rd QB.

There's this little thing called a waiver wire......

Oh dear. Matt Guttierez might get claimed and lay all our best laid plans to waste.

Well considering Cassel's instability as a backup so far, Gutierrez could be important as backup down the road.

I don't know why anyone would be pushing the panic button because Nick Kaczur and Neal are out. I like Neal a lot, but the fact is, we've won a lot of games without him over the past few years. Hochstein is a more than capable replacement. Kaczur is obviously the weak link on the line. He got man-handled by Joey Porter last week and has been beat dozens and dozens of times. I can't wait to see what OC can do at RT, especially considering how much I loathe Kaczur.

Right, no time to push panic button at all. I do not agree with your assessment of Kazcur being the "weak link" he has played very well all year - they all get beat sometimes. However, O'Callaghan nearly beat him out in training camp, along with super sub Hochstein - we are fine. We have Britt and Yates (assuming he is back in action from his own foot injury as well) for depth. Also, I think Dan Connolly (FA third year from Jax) is on PS and could be activated if they are really in need.

Lets not freak out. O'Cal and Hoch will be fine tonight. Brady may not get his customary 5 seconds to throw, but he should be able to manage.

O'C > Kaczur re: run-blocking, but is < Kaczur re: pass-blocking.

Hochstein > Neal re: pass-blocking, but is < Neal re: run-blocking.

Overall, it appears a wash; but if Yates (instead of Hochstein) replaces Neal, then expect to see more running than usual.

This also could be the game during which the screen pass has its cobwebs dusted-off as an antidote vs. a DL that loves to run upfield. The low # of healthy RBs is starting to worry me, however. Perhaps more WR screens, then. Either way, TB must throw the ball sooner than he's been doing lately.

And Dan Connolly is an interesting guy. He could be next year's Neal/Hochstein/Yates/Ashworth.
