Brady passer rating record

Passer rating record would be nice, but I'd be happy with 2 TDs to break the passing TD record.

I would love for him to break the record but i dont see him breaking it this year...Maybe those drops might hurt him after all but im glad to be 15-0 so its one individual record..I dont want those i want the one that matters the most and screw your * Shula.

What I can't figure out about this rating stuff is Brady is on pace to have better numbers all the way around then Mannings 2004 campaign(Better Completion %, More TD's, Less Int's, More Yards) Yet he won't have a better passer rating? How is that possible? It just shows you how stupid htat rating mess is!

While I agree that Passer rating is a worthless stat, the main reason for Manning having a better rating in '04 than Brady this year appears to be the Yards Per Attempt stat.
Payton had 107 more yards (than Brady has currently) on 39 fewer attempts.

I didn't do any messing around with the numbers like some of the previous posters, but I wonder if an amazing YPA day with a few TD's could do it?

______EDIT

I just check what would happen if Brady went 8 of 10 for 300 and 2 TD's (I know very unrealistic) and that would give him 121.18 which would best PM by .08. So, it appears that what is holding him back primarily is YPA with a strong second place of comp%

As a Pats fan since Plunkett was drafted, I find this whole thread depressing. Are we all turning into Indy Manning-lover fans?!?! JUST WIN!!! Screw the records.

winning is easy. records are hard:D

Well, the record is 121.1 and he's @ 117.2. So that's only a 3.9 that he needs to bring it up by. I'm sure that if he has a stellar game it could happen.

I must be doin' something wrong to figure out the average... when I add up his ratings and divide by 15 (number of games played not counting bye week), I come up with 114.6, not 117.2. So I'm not sure how the average is calculated... It seems plausible though to say he can pull it off with another high completion day with a 3+ TD day and 0 picks...
Actually, it's not as simple as dividing it up by the number of games. A season QB rating is weighted. If Brady throws 50 passes and has a perfect rating, then perhaps this might do the trick; on the other hand, if he throws 10 passes and has a perfect rating, it absolutely won't happen. Of course, these are extremes, but I use them to explain what I mean.

You really should have read the entire thread.... :bricks: :bricks:

It was explained, and a site was even given. But thanks anyways...
