Just saw on ESPN. Strahan saying "16-0 is good its great but it means nothing unless you win the superbowl" - mr obvious.
Antonio pierce says "its they who are going after all these records and they are the ones who should be uptight. We dont care , we are going to play loose and have fun"

cant really understand why everyone keeps saying 16-0 means nothing without a SB . As if going 16-0 is not a good thing . how can u go 19-0 without going 16-0 ?

LOL, theyre scared, Haha

Thats right....Play with fire Scarecrow!

Dont forget one of them weenies said Brady had a sense of entitlement like Prince Charles.

Oh and Michael Stra(ys from his wife with men)han, speaking of superbowl victories....Why are you speaking of superbowl victories?

Memo to Brandon Jacobs only 1 team can make history Saturday, if you win you are 11-5, hardly historic.

16-0, while impressive, will be looked at as an albatross if it doesnt become 19-0. It would go down as a choke. Mercury Morris would be running around making rap songs about you guys blowing it, and the legacy of the 07 Pats would be that of the great team who couldnt close the deal

Go 19-0 its unquestionably historic. Best team ever

Go 16-0 and then lose? They would have been better off having gone 15-1 or 14-2. They go unbeaten and dont win it all and they become a victim of their own success. They have no other alternative but to win the SB

Yes, and doing so with this level of pressure and scrutiny makes it an exceptional achievement, if so.

Guess the lesson was not learned with Anthony Smith.

I think there are lots of people who don't follow the team, aren't fans of the team, and really don't understand the team.

they talk about all this pressure they're under, etc, whether they should lose a regular season game, sit starters, blahblah.....

the pats are competitive ************s who want nothing more than to play, and to win every time they play.
this is why they've already compiled a 21 game win streak over 2 seasons, and 3 superbowls.
what they have done thus far this season doesn't mean **** to them.

don't think for a second that they'll be sweating out the playoffs, hoping things work out so they can make history.
they'll be playing every one of those games trying to kick whoever's playing them in the ass.

So you dont think the Pats are into this whole run and motivated to go 16-0 and be the first team to do it? I disagree, they arent human if theyre not, thyve even alluded to it this week.

I dont think they are playing with any sense of pressure being the overwhelming favorite. Theyve won SBs before and been through the battles. The only way they wont win is the "any given sunday" argument. Whoever wants to make a case for certain teams exposing certain Pat weakness right now is kidding themselves. They are too well rounded. If they lost it will be due to the law of averages catching up at some point

Thankfully, the Patriots have given our fans enough reason to be secure in our greatness. If we win the superbowl, we'll be the greatest of all time. If we don't, we'll still be one of the greatest dynasties of all time.

I'll admit, not to win the superbowl would be very disappointing. But of course that's the reality the Patriots face. There's no doubt this team LOVES challenges and they're facing the greatest challenge in NFL history.

I'm not saying that.
what I'm saying is it's not such a big deal as people make it out to be for them, and it wouldn't mean jack to them w/o the superbowl.
nothing they do would mean jack w/o that, whether it was 16-0, 15-1, or 11-5.

winning 16 games is great, but like I said, they've already won 21 w/o a loss, so it's not like it's unfamiliar territory that they're in.

Absolutely. Especially in this day and age. If we can get the 19-0, it is astronomically better than the dolphins' undefeated season, in pretty much every way.

I love all this hype........ It's like we've played 5-6 playoff games already. When the rubber meets the road in a coupe weeks, to our guys, it's gonna feel like a regular season game.

I agree this team will have enormous amounts of pressure in the playoffs.
Obviously every team wants to win in the playoffs. but its okay for pretty much any team not to (like it was okay that we lost the afc championship last year). 15-1 teams have lost in the playoffs. Plenty of 14-2 teams have lost. They can still go home and say 'we had a good season'.

But to go 16-0 puts a great exclamation mark on your season; and its something the team personel can be proud of for the rest of their lives. But if there's a loss in the playoffs; that sense of pride goes straight down the drain.

Think of the Seattle Mariners that ended up with the best regular season record; Then the lost in the playoffs. They aren't even mentioned among the great baseball teams. But had they won the world series, they'd be considered the best of all time.

They are still talking :

"I'm not going to take nothing away from them but I'm not going to say they're so far ahead of everybody else," Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora told reporters. "It's not like they're ************ and his 12 Disciples or nothing like that."

Is he making a ManJudas reference? ;)

This team seem to thrive on pressure - they love it and certainly are accustomed to playing in big games like no other team I have ever followed.

However, keep in mind, the nucleus of this team has 5 division crowns, three rings, 21 game streaks, soon to be a 16-0 season with all kinds of records - they are quite ready for a playoff run, without question.

In the playoffs, NE has the advantage due to their pressure experience as all teams face the prospect of the lose and go home, sudden death playoff football.

To a man, this team is saying, bring it on!!

From a fan - I love this team and all they stand for and all the wins they have brought to us.

The good thing about all the trash talk is that it makes the game personal for the Pats. You will work harder to prove somebody wrong than to achieve some intangible goal. Especially when that guy is trying to hit you on every play.

The Giants have done a good job prepping us for this game. Thanks.

Hopefully we can pull out a win, and avoid significant injuries. Maybe a couple touchdowns in the first half... :D
