53rd roster spot?

Did I miss it? Who'd we sign to fill the spot vacated by Chad Brown?

Wow. Hope Callaghan has improved (A LOT) in his pass-blocking b/c it's gonna be a tough night.

So Watson is the mystery TE. I am surprised that they didn't just give him the week off.

Good thing our strong-side is out instead of Light/Mankins. This will be a tough night for Brady.

In spite of the OL flux I really don't think the Giants will do much at all. I just have the feeling that NE is going to run roughshod over this team.

FWIW, I had this same odd lack of concern for the Raven game.

What's wrong with Kaczur?

so it looks like yates at guard, o'calloghan at right tackle and spoch helping him out.

i also expect to see faulk and evans on brady's right side in shotgun

I heard Clayton say Billy Yates might miss the game as well.

let's hope we don't go empty backfield against strahan and ogl-what's his name........these two are pretty deadly......
the rest of the D is susceptible to damage though........

ya i'm not a fan of the empty backfield on the very first play. we saw what happened in the colts game.

not sure the dropoff to ocallaghan is that bad. Let's not forget rt was the most heated battle in camp. In fact some here thought kaczur was on the bubble due to the mythical dog house.

yea, Kaczur has done ok over there, but there is room for improvement. I thought OC was good over there last year, so hopefully he can shake off the cobwebs and show his worth.

This is called "resting the guys who aren't 100% healthy." I'm sure most if not all of them will suit up for the divisional round.

Pats players downgraded

http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/

The Patriots announced the following 5 players have been downgraded to out for Saturday night's game:

DB Willie Andrews
TE Kyle Brady
RB Kyle Eckel
OT Nick Kaczur
OG Stephen Neal

The team also signed CB Antwain Spann off the practice squad.

man our o-line is thin against a very good pass rush :(

Think about this...If gimpy Mcnabb had only been sacked 4 times(instead of 12) in that Giants/Eagles game ...we would have more sacks than them. Minus gimpy Mcnabb Osi Umynameisamess would only have about 8 sacks....respectable but not awesome.

I heard Clayton say Billy Yates might miss the game as well.
I think Yates is OK...at least enough for a backup...IF Kaczur, Neal AND Yates was out..I THINK they would have added an OL instead of Spann...that simple...with Hochstein and O'Callaghan as starters, it leaves Yates and Britt as backups..so Yates is in...

I'm probably the happiest person here about this news, since I've been a big Spann fan since I met him last summer.

As for the OL thinness, I imagine if things get too bad Brady will be pulled.
