I was sitting on 128 this morning on my way to work, and I realized something. I don't want the Pats to "just win" in the playoffs this year. I want destruction. I want them to obliterate and demoralize their opponents. Complete and utter dominance in all three phases of the game. Why? Several reasons:

1) I enjoy reading people talking about how unreal this team is. Selfish and useless, I know, but fun nonetheless.

2) So one day I can show all the saved newspapers and magazines I have accumulated this season to my kids. Show them what football in the highest level is.

3) The "Oh my f'ing god." Effect on other teams. I want our AFC Championship game opponent to look at our Divisional Game and crap themselves. I know Cindy won't put too much stake in a big win the week prior, but that stuff sticks in your head. "They put 50 on Jax?! Dang.". I want our superbowl opponent to look at the Indy game and feel fear. Then, they will open their mouths and give validation for my blind two week hatred of said NFC opponent.

4) It's hard to articulate why I don't just want W's...I guess I feel that this team has been genuinely disrespected. I know, I know, everyone's been saying what a great team they are blah, blah blah. But, for some reason I just feel like they don't get their dues.

So, does anyone else feel this way? Am I a bad person for wanting to obliterate teams? Am I the only one who wants the G-Men beat so badly they pack in it before the Tampa Bay game? Do I need to switch to decaf?

I'd like them to blow out teams (a la the 2004 Steelers) but they probably won't. The teams that have to come to Foxboro are going to be just as fired up as the Pats and they've earned the right to play in the post-season. Teams are going to play the Pats tough. And, the Pats are going to play their opponents tough.

The team that makes the least amount of mistakes will win. I'll be happy if the Pats win it all...I don't care if they blow teams out of the water in the post season.

I don't care about the Giant game, except for health and records.

It is INDEED important to an historical perspective of this team that we win the playoff game decisively. Winning the SB would indeed cement this decade's patriots as one of the best dynastie of all time. HOWEVER, we would not be consider the best individual team unless we decisively walk through the playoffs as the 1985 Bears did. For me, they are the best single season team; much, much better than the 1972 dolphins.

this team has been disrespeaved,....and i kinda like all the ball washing goin on in the sports world for this team....

but the media has shown disrespect, so let them give sum more....i also would like hte pats to dominate by incredible amounts....and destroying every opponent in the 3 playoffs game would give me amazing joy

You always want your team to dominate--shouldn't even be a question.

.

Take names, kick ass, then be the gracious, humble, and VERY HAPPY champions!!!

Yeah.

if this makes you a bad person, then I'm the baddest of the bad. :rocker:

I don't care about the Giants game at all whether we win or lose. The bottom line is if we go 16-0 and don't win the Super Bowl the season is a failure. We need to make sure we are healthy and at full strength going into the playoffs.

Judging by what Brady has said about the game tomorrow night, it looks like the team feels quite different. Your username doesn't match your philosophy.

Your kids will have no appreciation for any of that. Save those things if you want, but it will have as much meaning as a guy showing you clippings about Otto Graham. There won't be any emotional attachment to this information, like there is with you. I know because I have tried to share that sort of thing with my kids of my college's sports team from years ago when they were great. They are happy for me but it's totally lost on them.

I feel you. I want the Pats to dominate the first preseason game, the Super Bowl, and every game in between.

you are not a bad person because majority of NFL coachs feel the same way in the first 4 months of the season when Pats was running up the scores.

Then,It was not the question if pats was going to win. The question was "how many points was pats going to score.?"

it was something which we witnessed but I don't know why we don't see it lately.

Don't just beat them. Erase them. Make it seem as if the other teams never existed. Imagine the road to the stadium lined with the pole-staked heads of 19 mascots... MWUAHAHAHAHA! :D
