Gary Myers was probably the most incendiary of the New York columnists against the Pats this year (he's the one who had the dubious interview with Don Shula about the streak). Here's an excerpt (link to full article below) from his piece in the Daily News this morning. He's clearly trying to stir things up.

"The Patriots carry themselves as if they are NFL royalty, and the Giants are anxious to shove them off their throne.

"Now that Tom Coughlin has declared he is playing to win Saturday night despite having the No. 5 playoff seed locked up, the Giants were feisty yesterday, chirping about their desire to end the undefeated dream for the Patriots, who are trying to complete an unprecedented 16-0 regular season and carry that through to a 19-0 season.

"Antonio Pierce decided it was a good time for an analysis of Tom Brady.

"'He walks around like he's Prince Charles, like he's the golden boy,'" Pierce said. ....."

I have to go read the article, but I just had to respond with:

"Prince Charles WISHES he was Tom Brady!!!"

Pierce believes Brady looks indignant on the rare occasions when a defensive player has the audacity to lay his mitts on him. "I mean, watching on film when Philly was hitting him, the guy looks at them like, 'Wow, I got touched by the defense.' He doesn't get hit often, Pierce said. "And he walks with an arrogance. The guy hasn't gotten touched so he has no reason to fear anything."

Pierce said with a smile. "Prince Charles has got the world at his hands over there where he's at. I think (Brady) has put up an MVP season. Right now he's the top guy in the league as far as making plays. You can't call him the king until he wins it all."

Princes of the NFL today, Kings in Feb
Works for me!

"Over there where he's at?" Sounds like Pierce doesn't know what country Prince Charles is from.

Brady has won it all three times. That's as close to "king" as you get.

What an idiot.

Let's see. Tom Brady + Giselle Bundchen. Prince Charles + Camilla Parker Bowles. You decide.

(edited from "Sarah" to "Camilla")

The irony is that Brady is kind of like Prince Charles - quietly going about his business while the media tries to intrude on every aspect of his life. It really isn't a diss, although it was meant to be.

Besides, I'd rather have Prince Charles leading my team than Gooober (Eli walks around like he's him).

Dude, it's Camilla Parker Bowles. I think Sarah is her daughter (isn't that a Freudian slip!)

Who's this Pierce guy again

What an idiot.

Didn't the Giants play in England this year?? That's the sad part.....

good one. clearly i'm not up on my royalty watching...

why in gods name did this moron rattle the bear cage?? what an idiot, these guys may be able to rush the passer but they can't cover my dead grandmother. dont make locker room material for a team that not only loves to use it but has no problem creating it themselves. I hope TB throws 5 TD's and lambasts Pierce after everyone of them

Isn't Antonio Pierce the same clown who was using the air horn at a press conference? Yeah, he should definitely be talking.

Thank you for stepping up and accepting the FredEx-Anthony Smith Honorary Goat Horns. I'm sure you and your offspring will enjoy many years of notoriety with it.

It will guarantee you decades of a way to earn a living at signing shows next to Freddie Mitchell, Ralph Branca and Tonya Harding.

LMAO! Excellent!

exactly who or what is an Antonio Pierce?

giants know they have nothing at stake so they are staying loose. i think they will play us very tough for the same reason.not to mention their D coordinator was in philly before so he might have somethings up his sleeve.

It is this type of Patriot fan arrogance that pisses me off. The Patriots fans are worse than Yankee fans.

It's arrogant to defend our team? LOL

It's arrogant to make fun of a silly comment/comparison? LOL

Methinks it's more arrogant to come into a fan forum expecting that the fans don't support their team.

Prepare yourself to get even more pissed off as the entire nation watches the loudmouth Jints get trounced, completely destroying their will to compete just before the playoffs.

Now THAT'S arrogance!
