I have had complete 100% faith in the Pats all year. Whether they'll admit it or not, I bet you anything that this weekend's game is just as important to the players as any super bowl they have played in.

Unlike a super bowl though, the opposing team likely won't be nervous because they really don't give a **** if they lose, and don't expect to win.

I have confidence that the Pats will win through, but I sure hope nerves don't create silly turnover mistakes that could make this game tougher than it should be.

I'm not nervous at all.

Top seed. HFA. Playoffs about to start.

What is there to be nervous about?

Nope...16-0 then 19-0. We've come to far to look back. Here is to VICTORY!!!!!

you forgot bout bein 16-0...;)

You know we're not playing the Colts in Indy, right, because that's the only time I'd feel nervous at all.

I'll take that bet and give you odds.

If they lose this game and win the next one, they'll be a lot happier than if the outcomes are the other way around.

WE WILL KILL THE GIANTS. They can be all hyped up and "loose" and motivated and "playing with house money" and whatever else - the Patriots are a dominant juggernaut that wins even with their C game.

The only questions Saturday night will be TD records and injuries.

I have a related question, purely hypothetical given it's improbability.

If the Pats were to finish with an overall record of 18-0-1, would that still be considered 'perfection', or would the tie be seen as a stain?

Nervous? Only if you mean the nervousness of anticipation. The team has come too far to take the pedal off the metal.

Hopefully this will help you feel better...
I turned my tv onto the TV guide and the first channel I see is showing Coach Carter. I fliped to that channel and the first line I heared, which was by Samuel Jackson speaking to someone on the phone from his hotel room was "We are 16-0"

ties are not wins, therefore not perfection.

as for nervous, of course i'm nervous. im nervous when we play the freakin dolphins. its a game, and anything can happen. i am quite confident we will win, but im still nervous.

the only thing I am nervous about is that a team can only play one superbowl a year. it feels like the pats have been in sb mode ever since the indy game. i still think they end up 19--0, and that, as such, it will establish them as the greatest team of all time, if for no other reason than what they had to go through to get there.

Right. If I'd thought about this some more I'd have realized that a tie is still a failure to win, even if it's not a loss.

I posted this on another post the Giants are only 1-5 against teams w/ winning records, 1 win against the skins, like someone said at one time "you are what your record says you are". Patriots are 15-0

I'm nervous for everygame. Whether it's warranted or not is another story, ;)

There is just no way that any regular season game is as important to the Pats as a SB> What makes you think that?
If you asked all 53 players to choose between an 8-8 season with a SB Championship, and a 16-0 season but no SB win, you'd get the saem answer 53 times, within 53 seconds.

Definitely nervous! But I get nervous for every Pats game.

Nervous? yeah, I'm freakin nervous!! What if my cable goes OUT! :bricks:
