It will look like the Eagles and ravens game , it s gonna be another tough game .

Superbowl is a longshot but here they have a chance to orchestrate one of the biggest underdog victories in front of the entire country.

Get ready saturday for a bumpy ride !

i agree. i too believe they will be coming out to play. they know we are, so why would they back down from a challenge? resting players and floating into the playoffs is a bad way to go in. on the other hand though, getting handed a beating by the pats is another bad way to go in.:D

What do you base this on? Is it because their fans are bailing on the game and everyone expects Coughlin to rest people? Couglin isn't going to coach this game with the idea that a Giants Super Bowl is a longshot. His job might well depend on a good showing in the playoffs.

the Giants are pancakes...we're gonna pour over them like 55 gallons of maple syrup

War (competition) starts by deceiving and hiding your plans , and Giants will do everything to beat the Pats on Saturday .

Just get ready for another nail biting game.

If Coughlin isn't a moron, he will notice that every team that plays the Pats gets wrecked. The hangover lasts for weeks. If he's smart, he'll have a half-assed game plan and rest his starters in the second half.

what makes you think coughlin is not a moron?

I agree with the thread's subject line. As they should, as no season is significant if it was accomplished by rolling over any teams not willing to come equipped to the battle. The national spotlight on this game is motivation enough. The Giants don't need their fans' support. From recent interviews, the Giants' players appear ready for the challenge. This should be a great game to watch.

If the Patriots accomplish their objectives for this season, it's never more gratifying than to look back on it and say, "they earned it."

'Anything?'

The NY Giants haven't played a complete game all year which they will need to do just to be competitive. Suddenly their QB is going to be composed and accurate for 4 qtrs? And their lack of depth at LB and DB won't be exposed?

Either you are Michael Strahan's nephew or you haven't seen any of the Giants' games.

LOL

I think Tom is currently caught between a rock and a hard place of his own making. His players, who have never had their coaches back and barely warmed to him this season, who should have nothing to say on the matter, are setting him up to be the ogre if he doesn't let them play and the fall guy if he does and it results in back to back losses in weeks 17 and 18.

Whatever...this is all part of what has plagued this team since the day he (and then Eli) arrived. Competing egos and agendas...we check ours at the door.

no, i doubt it....the giants are goin to the postseason, they have other things to play for...the teams that gave us trouble like eagles and ravens had nothing to play for, and did have some talent...

the giants have something to play for next week, i think the players/starters come out and play good....but we dominate them, and Tom decides to save their confidence and begins to pull them

I give the Giants a ton of credit. A team has to be incredibly strong mentally to overcome dreadful QB play and still win 10 games in the NFL. They are going to come out playing with energy and passion. It will last until (1) they get punched in the mouth by a team that physically matches them (2) their Qb f's up the first time and deflates the whole team (3) they realize they are being outcoached. This should all sink in by midway through the 2nd Q, after which time, the Gmen will collectively decide to not waste their energy in a lost cause with a playoff game pending. Final score: 34-16 Pats.

This wouldnt be anywhere close to one of the biggest upsets in sports. Wouldnt even make top 10.

i agree with you.

What is going on on these boards today? "Trap Game" this and "I'm Worried" that!

You do realize the Giants have a much bigger game next week against Tampa Bay. You do know if they lose that game they have to wait until next year to get to the SB. Wouldn't it behoove them to rest their guys in preparation for the Tampa Bay game?

C'mon, people!

I agree with you.....Coughlin keeps his job by winning a playoff game, not playing the Pats tough.

For Pats haters , a giants victory will become the biggest underdog victory of all time .

That's been my point all along. Still, this game is a fascinating psychological study: It has to be played, but it literally means NOTHING to either team in terms of the championship chase. The bottom line, in my opinion, is that it ultimately means more to the Patriots for bragging rights (undefeated season, personal records, team records, etc.).

Coughlin is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. I think he plays his guys hard the first half and rests those who need it the second half. I think the Pats play hard through three quarters and after that ease off if the game is in the bag. I'll be surprised as hell if both teams fight it out to the end. This game should be nothing short of a formality for New England -- a coronation of the Patriots' perfect regular season.

The morning of the Steelers game I felt like the Patriots were done playing close games and would go back to winning by double digits. I told a friend about it and so far the feeling hasn't faded.

This is the most focused this team will be short of the postseason. They all know 16-0 is important and I don't think they'll come out flat at all. Considering that the Patriots have more talent than the Giants I do not think it will be a tough game, which isn't something I would normally say.

Your a victim of fanboy logic. Most of the rest of the world doesn't really think in those terms. Wouldn't even be close to what we did to the Raiders, Steelers and the greatest show on turf with our 6th round backup QB starting.

Some of you, and particularly it seems the newer bandwaggon fans, spend more time worrying about what other people and the media might think or say than you do about what really matters, winning Lombardi's. It really marginalizes your opinion value as "fans".
