Re: If Giants come to play ... any concerns?

My only concern is that I run out of beer whilst celebrating 16-0.

Re: If Giants come to play ... any concerns?

Not really worried at all. Just who have they beaten. I'm not impressed by the Giants AT ALL. Every marginal to decent team they faced, they lost. Pathetic.

I really hope Patriots players are not like some of the Patriots fans around here.

The Giants may not be anything special, but they have talanted players on both sides of the ball and we are not invulnerable to hubris. New York has every reason to come out there and play us as hard as they can, so we need to bring our A-game one more time. I have no doubt that we can do it and we all know what this team is capable of. But we must not allow anything to get to our heads or take anything for granted.

What 'we' say here as fans has no influence on the outcome of the game.
Really, it doesn't!

If the Giants can run the ball effectively and can beat Matt Light

and Nick Kaczur on a consistent basis, the Giants can definitely

win the game. As good as he is, Tom Brady cannot pass effectively

if he is on his backside.

The Patriots have proven two things over the years. If there is a way to lose a game, the Patriots will find it. However, secondly, since the Tom Brady era quite the opposite has manifested.

The Giants can beat the Patriots, but they will have to bring their A game, and the Patriots will have to make beaucoups errors. I think the Pats will win. There is a whole lot riding on this game..no they are assured of home field throughout the playoffs, and no team has ever gone undefeated this deep into the 16 games season....but the ingominy of losing this game would be hateful to those guys. This one is probably being played as much for Bill Belichick as it is for them. There is an incredible bond among the players and that bond supports Bill.

The Patriots have given the football world quite a ride this year. Several of their games have even been rescheduled to accomodate the huge audiences who want to see this team play.

Injuries could spell the end of any playoff hopes to either team, an I'm sure both coaching staffs are keenly aware of that. The Pats offensive and defensive lines will be starters...probably throughout the game. I suspect the same can be said of the Giants line-up. Good luck to all, and let's all hope both teams emerge injury free.

I guess the questions that will be answered Saturday night will be, first, do the Giants want to play hard enough to be spoilers, and second, will the Patriots play hard enough to be able to get a comfortable lead and take out their big guns?

I'll be behind my TV, a huge pizza, and lots of bloody Marys Saturday night watching the game on CBS. :D

GO PATRIOTS!!!!

Could you please list the reasons, because quite frankly I can't think of any. They are more concerned with getting a weeks rest and the first playoff game. This game will be over by half if not the first quarter. The Giants are not going to throw anything new at us, likewise neither will we. We will be up by two scores in the first quarter. I know by saying that, that I'll be in BB's doghouse, but it is what it is.

what...the Patriots defense is going to play patty cake with Eli?

works both ways, pal

Re: If Giants come to play ... any concerns?

Trap game crap game. The Patriots did not win 15 straight regular season games, then come into the last game against an inferior team to lose to them. The Giants biggest offensive threat (Burris) will not play. Manning will play one quarter, as if thats a big deal. Strahan has mentioned he needs to rest. On the other side of the ball, Brady and Moss need two TD's for records. Anyone thinking they haven't been trying hasn't been paying attention. Anyone thinking they won't succeed hasn't been watching. Belichick wants this game, anyone thinking otherwise must be in a coma. The only factor that will make any difference will be the weather. It will not be whether the Patriots show up.
Burress is listed as questionable, at least in this report:

Yes, any team that can run the ball continuously against our D monopolizing the clock and then sack or harrass Brady consistently stands a good chance of winning.

The Colts pre-loss of Freeney were one such team. The Chaagiz, now with their ground game renewed are another such threat. Somehow, I think thet these two fine teams and not the Jints represent much bigger potentials for a L. Fortunately, there are other aspects to the game and to pass protection schemes that a Pats playoff team with a healthy TE or 2 will overcome.

In the backs of the Pats collective mind is the thought, "We want it!"

In the backs of the Giants collective mind is the thought, "We can afford to lose it."

With Manning playing so badly lately you have to wonder if the Pats just won't bring the extra guy up into the box, shut down Jacobs, and force Manning to have his sixth straight crappy game.

This is not a hard game to figure out unless Manning and Toomer do something so unusual that the Archangels descend and pave the way to the end zone and immortality for them.

We'd only get 5 touchdowns.

This is the biggest game the Giants play all season including playoffs due to the national exposure. I'm guessing professional pride makes this the Giants' Super Bowl. Concerns? Every team the Pats have gone against since the bye considers a game against the Patriots as their Super Bowl. The Pats are steeled for a game like this, and it should be a good one!
