With the spot light, the stake is higher now...
The line just shift 1 pt, NYG +13.5.
Do you think either NE or NYG can be happy about this?

They could have just a quiet preseason-like affair...

WTF cares about the line?

No I don't expect a tough game. It is funny that some people are talking as if the Giants actually have a chance if they try. Why would the Giants lay it all on the line just to be humiliated by the best team in the NFL right before the playoffs? Playing the Patriots would do wonders for Eli’s confidence if they wipe the floor with him and as he is the worst NFL starting QB, which is just what will happen if he plays. The Giants probably have a better chance playing backups any way. The Giants have to worry about TB who they might have a chance to beat.

I do not think the players care about the line movement at all.

Unless we are talking about players on offshore books, that is another story. I will have to confess I did load up on -13.5 early Sunday night because I was afraid of lateral movement, which did occur, but I didn't want to chance it not coming back down....

Which side are you on pal?

In front of a national audience, Giants players may try harder, slamming Tom Brady on the turf for example... even for just a half.

Once the adrenalin flows... who knows.

I consider the NYG and Redskins as very similar in talent teams, even with different styles. And we beat the Skin 52-7, so am not to worried even if NYG "tries", i.e. not resting their starters.

I don't think the outcome of the game. or how it's played, is going to have a thing to do with the size of the TV audience

I never want to bet against Pats... I only do game analysis. But some folks I know are very good at picking underdogs especially at home. They passed this game because it was insignificant. (They would have taken the Giants had they lost to the Bills).

The line means nothing to the players. But with national spot light, there is pride involved, raising risks of unnecessary injuries.

It's the NFL and every game is tough!

The Pats have better talent and the weather should be ideal for a late season, night game. However, anything can happen.

I think the Pats have a good chance ;)

What part do you disagree with and why? Am I missing something on Eli? He is rated as the 27th best QB playing today.

This team will be motivated more than ever sorry.

I don't doubt that players are, they are professionals.

But Giants fans are split into two camps too, and Tom Coughlin is also torn.

I hope the Pats will be up so quickly in the 1st Q and 1/2 of 2nd (e. g. 21-3) that TC will pull everyone out.

I think the Pats will be happy do same and not rub it in.

The Pats will prepare and play their game regardless what the media or Ny does

Washington is a more talented team then the Giants, Washington's problem was their QB Cambell, he put the ball on the turf for what 4 TOs and i think we got points off all of them.

That being said the Giants are not much better off with Eli especially without Buress who will not play period.

ok, some nfl.com writer stated his opinion regarding Eli, lets take it as the God Given Truth:rolleyes:

Eli has thrown atleast 8-10 picks in garbage times just based on my memory alone. Luckily the qb rating system takes all of that into account and we are given accurate evaluations:rolleyes:

Whatever happens PLEASE GOD, don't let them rest Eli. :singing:

A fact. The Giants have the 14th scoring offense and the 14th scoring defense. The Patriots have the 1st scoring offense and the 2nd scoring defense.

Fantasy time for you. It will end soon enough though. It is a shame that you can’t objectively view your team. Yea that’s it, garbage time. With a 10 -5 record they have lots of garbage time. It must have been all that garbage time in that 3 point victory over the dolphins.

I guess no other teams had garbage time this year
