It could happen, of course.
Colts ... Ravens ... Eagles
all had a shot.
Giants are as good as they are.

But if the Patriots lose Saturday,
can you even conceive of them
failing to win the Lombardi?

I can't.
Their focus and determination
would be simply off the scale!

I don't see how losing this week makes them more determined. That's just nutty.

Pretty much. If you need extra motivation to win in the playoffs, well, you're not going to win in the first place.

If any team understands the playoffs, it's this team.

There is no silver lining.

Win, lose or draw, the Patriots will be equally focused and determined to take home the Lombardi.

I don't believe for a second that the Patriots will succumb to the pressure of 19-0, or that they're "due for a loss," so it's better for it to come now than in the playoffs, etc. etc. It's all just paranoia, and while I understand why some fans have it, it just isn't very realistic to think that the Patriots have any less of a chance to win out if they don't lose one game.

A) "We're 16-0, we better win it all!"
B) "We're 15-1, we better win it all!"

I don't see how option B is better, in any way what so ever, than option A.

I think they will have that little extra gear if they are 16-0; not that there would be much of a gear left to add. But 15-1 ? It makes no sense.

I almost think people start threads like this just to test people. How many of these kinds of threads did we ever see over the last 6 seasons? Can't wait to see these threads pop up during the playoffs

I don't not think the Giants are as good as they Colts, but you are entitled to that belief. Either way, I would like to point out that the fact that the Giants are "as good as" three teams that lost to us does not make an especially good case for a Giants victory.

Or is this one of those "blueprint" things?

Are you posting in haikus?

You post this like it's already happened? Did I miss something.

I think there's basically 2 schools of thought here re: the playoffs.

1. Pats are 16-0 therefore every team is that much more pumped to come in and be the team to beat them, therefore they have a smaller margin for error.

2. Pats are 16-0 and therefore have a huge mental edge over teams coming in to play an undefeated team with no game film to watch of them being beaten.

Either way, my opinion is that none of that really is going to matter once the game starts, and this team knows playoff football and how focused and determined you have to be to win those three toughest games of the year.

Some of these threads are just getting ridiculous.

“If we go 15-1, less pressure guys!”

”If you don’t lose in the regular season, you’re just DUE to lose in the playoffs!”

"More motivation to win being 15-1, than 16-0. They'll be so angry lulz!"

I honestly believe there are some Pats fans on here who don’t want us to go 16-0. It scares them, they are afraid to embrace perfection as they were all season. The “Well gee guys 14-2 would be a lot nicer” folks need to start moving out.

The only team you need worry about is jacksonville, Other then that you bastsdz smooth sail to the lombardi:mad:

You're only saying that because we haven't beat them this year...yet. Not much else for you guys to say...

LOL

I think this is just another case of fear factor reverse psychology by psycho. Just getting in ahead on even if we lose we win to soothe his own delicate psyche.

Jacksonville has become ridiculously overrated as of late.

They have now just replaced the Steelers as the “Physical, a running game, zomg! Watch out!” team.

The only reason they're even being mentioned is because they have not had the displeasure of having to face us yet this season. If they had, talk such as this would have already been squashed.

We've beaten 4 of the other 5 current AFC playoff teams already, 3 of them by 3 scores.

Wrong i could say packers or bucs But that might be unreasonable. Jacksonville is on fire thats the best team you will face

I'd rank the rest of the AFC playoff teams as so...

2) Colts
3) Jags
4) Chargers
5) Steelers
5) Titans/Browns

Yeah, I don't get it either.

And at the time we beat them each was generating that could this be the team to hand the new look Pats their first loss buzz...

Colts are manning powered He gets flustered and the game goes south quick every time. I think the jags earn the number spot as of late.

The fact that they sweeped them this year gets them the top spot for me.

Sure, David Garrard went down early in the first game and the second game had some - as usual - questionable officiating, but I’m not going to make any excuses for them. Fact is they’re 0-2 against them this year.
