Does the avg sports fan want 16-0 or 15-1?

cant really say for sure. i think the country is pretty split, half hate and half like. rooting against the colts is only natural as a pats fan. i wish they never won a single game

From what I've been hearing, the majority of the country wants us to lose.

Poll on CBS sports site says 61% want to see the Pats undefeated.

I say 19-0. That is the best we can do.

I think most of the sports fans are torn. The majority do not like the Patriots but the probably also want to see something like this happen in their lifetime and just as importantly finally shut up the '72 Dolphins.

Do you think more people in this country want to see the Patriots complete a perfect season or fail this Saturday?

I know I was rooting against the Colts doing it a few years ago when they were 13-0.

I used to think the former but now after reading this article I am begining to think the latter:

18-1 (lose last game on regular season and win the SB) is better than

16-0 ( win all regular season games and lose in the PlayOffs)

I don't care what anyone else wants. I want 19-0. All that matters is winning the 3 games in the playoffs.

I also was definitely not rooting for Indianapolis to do it in 2005. Or Denver in 1998.

What Mich Dave just said!:agree:

i'm an avg fan. I want 19-0. No more, no less.

Although winning going 19-0 is the best thing that can happen to the Pats and I'm rooting for them to take it all the way, however if ever they were to lose I'd rather have them lose in the playoffs.

Anyone team can win a SB, heck the Pats already have 3! But I think that a perfect regular season is close to impossible to achieve and the 2007 Pats will always be remembered for having a perfect regular season.

Are you kidding me? No one cares about a perfect regular season if you don't win the title. Going 16-0 and losing in the playoffs only means you're remembered for failing. Remember the 1991 UNLV basketball team?

I would rather go 9-7 and win the Super Bowl. Championships are all that matter.

Of course - being 18-1 and losing VS the Giants is 1,000,000 times better than being 16-0 in regular season and then 18-1 after the Superbowl.

Must go 19-0 - must!!

The only thing that could ever make me feel worse than blowing last years AFCCG would be losing this years Superbowl.

19-0 baby.....I can feel it!!

I have yet to meet a non-Pats fan (Dolphins, Giants, Jets, Steelers, Cowboy, Colts) that isn't "anybody but the Pats."

16-0 is a bonus and winning a SB is a great deal. As far as i'm concerned, pats has the ability to do that.

I'm greedy.

I want 38-0, two undefeated seasons in a row.

I think 15-1 is what most of the country wants and that is good.
The Pats, like the 80s Celts seem to like the us vs world mentality.
We can let Peyton and the Colts be the goodie goodies.

I would like the pats to go 16-0 and then fall flat on their face in their first playoff game. that would be priceless.

Jets insider is calling you troll....get out.....:blahblah:

THis is his best offering and one i found hilarious: Still laughing at the images in my mind.

Shock and Awe
Annoying attribute: If the team in question demanded your schoolyard lunch money, would you put up a fight? Or would you hand it over, offer thanks and give yourself a wedgie, hoping to avoid additional humiliation and punishment? Some teams find a way to win; others force opponents to kneel before Zod, then crush them underfoot while giggling to the lamentations of their women. And everyone hates a bully.

Loathing quotient: High. Sports fandom is all about hope, about possibility trumping probability -- David thrashing Goliath, Appalachian State upending Michigan -- and clubs that reduce contests to seeming fait accomplis suck the fun right out of rooting. Why watch the game if you already know the final score?

Classic examples: "Punch-Out!"-era Mike Tyson (technically speaking not a team, but wreaked havoc like a one-man gang); the '85 Chicago Bears; the '89 San Francisco 49ers.

Patriots' rank: 5 hearts. YES YES YES YES YES
