Dallas Cowboys $150,000 seat rights send some fans to view TV

Loyal Dallas Cowboys fans are fuming.
The team is asking them to pay as much as $150,000 for the right to buy season
tickets for games at the $1.1 billion stadium it's building, to open in 2009. That's on
top of $340 for each game ticket.

Precisely. Every kinda club seat takes alotttta $$$$. I know I don't live in NE but I've been told numerous times by the paper and family Patriot games are a freaking joke in terms of price. It's the one price I guess Pats fans pay, but don't throw stones living in glass houses.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Patriots season ticket holders would be much better off with PSLs. They're like money in the bank, you own your seats in perpetuity and can sell them to others when ready, plus you can re-sell your tickets without repercussion. It also would keep ticket prices down. What Jones is doing sounds outrageously expensive, but most PSLs are in the $2k-$3k range and I'd glady pay that to own my seats forever.

If so, it's kind of an investment. Let's you participate in the value of the Cowboys...if they get bad, the PSR will go down in value.

You are comparing $150,000 for the right to buy seasons tickets at $340 per game with $30-$40 to park and the price of hot dogs?

Anyway, I'm not sure that the parking and concession rates are higher than other privately funded stadiums. Some stadiums are subsidized by the state, and the rates reflect state legislators desire to get re-elected, not by a need for a return on investment.

Just out of curiousity, what are the parking fees and concession rates of other teams.

No no no no no. A PSL gives you the RIGHT to buy seasons tickets at the prevailing price. You still pay for the tickets, and you still have the same restrictions, and same repercussions that are in the seasons tickets agreement.

You do not own your seats in perpetuity. You own the right to buy seasons tickets for that stadium each year. If a new stadium is built, you no longer have a seat license.

The seat license may or may not be transferrable. It depends on the conditions on which the seat license was sold. It usually is transferrable, which means of course, no Wait List.

Think about it for a minute. Paying for a PSL gives you the right to buy tickets every year. Right now, every Gillette season ticket holder has the right to renew every year. PSLs are simply a way to get fans to spend money for nothing in return, like the Jets charging $50 a year to be on the Wait List.

Nope. Cllub seats are not PSL. They are seasons tickets that are sold not for one year, but for ten years.

I am not directing this post at you but it just has SOME elements I see in the "red seat" posts that I want to point out...

I love how people complain ABOUT the "wine and cheese" crowd in the red seats at the Razor yet some will claim Kraft is milking everything he can and the Pats are too much $$$$$...blah, blah, blah.

Reality check...how many on this board could afford 150K to buy the RIGHT to get a ticket? Ok, Ok thats the most expensive ticket....16K for nose bleeds for the RIGHT! What do you think JJ is going to charge for parking???? Do you think there will be a "wine and cheese crowd" there?

Strap on 1.1 billion, or heck what 400 million for Kraft, he mentioned one time the interest alone was incredible on his debt. He took a risk, he had a sweetheart deal in CONN and parking probably would have been cheaper for all the people that cry about it.

Personally I probably could never afford Pats season tickets even if I lived back in MA and could bypass the waiting list.

However I have been to a Patriot SB (Houston) and it took me almost a year to pay the ONE ticket I bought off. IT was a choice I made.

I'm pretty sure I have worked in crappier conditions than most people on this board in extremely uncomfortable weather and conditions many, many days....but I can assure you this. If I went to a game and had red seat tickets I WOULD BE INSIDE AT HALF TIME! If the game was a blow out I might be behind the glass also. If the game was close in any way I would be outside screaming my fool head off.

My point? My point is that I see so many people complaining about Kraft and the expense of going to a game...along with complaining that the 6,000 red seats are the REASON that home games aren't loud and they "aren't real football fans". Well judging by the posters we have here that have season tickets a "common Joe" can seem to afford season tickets. It may be a major expense but "common people" seem to still be able to get to the game even though Kraft made it so "unaffordable".

16K for nose bleed seats and then have to buy the tickets every year? Hey JJ is spending 1.1 BILLION! I am not going to tell him he can't charge 16K-150K for PSL's but 150K is certainly an amount that staggers the imagination.

Comparing cowgirls PSL's and prices to Krafts situation....that doesn't take imagination, that takes fantasy.

I'm not going to call JJ a thief. He IS SPENDING 1.1 BILLION!!! I think the numbers he is SPENDING and ASKING are really beyond my true comprehension. I have never begrudged the "haves" even though I have pretty much been a more or less "have not" most of my life. I choose a career that would never make me rich even though I know I could have made a great deal of money doing other things.

I am not going to crucify JJ, but it is a thread worthy topic as the numbers are staggering. The Razor? LIke I said, I probably couldn't afford season tickets myself because the expense would effect other things enough that I would watch on TV. I COULD buy them, but would have to scrimp to do it a little....if God forbid I was a cowgirl fan? Yeah, no amount of scrimping would ever allow me to purchase tickets there. Heck I couldn't even afford to dream about affording those...that probably is a $500 PSL to dream about the tickets.

The disparaging comments are because the red seats are in the prime noise making spot and all those jerks are inside watching the game on TV. They could be poor or could have stolen the tickets. It doesn't matter. What matters is that they are not outside making noise.

Now it could be that they are pampered little b!tches because they have money, but the issue isn't money, it's an empty seat.

Where did I compare the two? I was making a point about the fact that these guys don't do it for the love of the sport. They do it to make money.. Next..
