How bad is Eli Manning, now completing his 4th season in the NFL?

Eli has the lowest completion % of any starting QB in the NFL (55.3%).
Eli has the highest interception rate of any starting Qb in the NFL, except Vince Young and Tarvaris Jackson (3.8%).
Eli has fumbled more than any player in the NFL, except John Kitna (12).
Eli has more fumbles + interceptions than any Qb in the NFL (31).
Eli has more INTs than any QB in the NFL (19).
Eli averages the fewest yards per attempt of any starting QB in the NFL (6.21).
Eli has the lowest passer rating of any starting Qb in the NFL, except VY and Tarvaris Jackson (70.9).

Eli has done all this with a great running game.

What a huge waste of picks and money to get this guy.

Dude I got to post this on the giants board lol, thanks for an excellent research, I never botherd looking that punk up

His receivers haven't exactly been helping him out recently. That being said, he is still pretty lousy, especially for his fourth season.

He sucks in bad weather. Badly.

In September and October in his career he has 40 TD and just 22 interceptions. His QB rating is close to 90. When the temp is above 70 degrees his career QB rating is like 95. They showed the stats here all week on local television

Eli has been excellent in the 1st half of seasons every year, and when the wind starts kicking up, and the temps drop, so does his level of play. He doesn't suck. If he sucks so bad how can you explain his first half success over the past 3 years? Flukes? No, I dont buy that, its just not logical. Eli Manning just sucks in bad weather. Thats definitely a concern because there will be bad weather playing in the northeast every november/december/january. He has to find a way to play better in it

Maybe he could just move to a dome team like his brother. :D

This is HILARIOUS.
The dumbass and his dad shouldn't have forced their way out of playing for San Diego.

He probably would have been better off there from a statistical standpoint, no doubt about it

Im not making excuses for him. Theres no excuse to be as bad as he has been in bad weather. Im just offering an explanation. And it rings true. He absolutely blows in bad weather, and hes been excellent in September and October. Not just good, but excellent. Through the first half of every year hes been a legit pro bowl candidate, and then hes fallen off a cliff. He doesn't just flat out blow as a QB. If he did he wouldnt have had so much success in his career in September and October. He would pretty much suck all the time

You mean to tell me he has a lower QB rating then Alex Smith?!?...Wow....

the Giants should sign Jake Plummer to make Eli look better

In order to qualify for NFL Qb rankings, a player must throw an average of 14 attempts per team's game played. Alex Smith did not qualify due to his injury.

I was listening to WFAN last night en route to visiting family for the holiday and the host plus a bunch of callers were moaning about how Eli has regressed and the Giants made the playoffs in spite of him. He's not too popular in the Big Apple.

What a huge waste of picks and money to get this guy.

Not for SD. Smith turned him into 3 All Pros , Kaeding, Merriman and Rivers.....Okay 2 All Pros and one ' how the heck did he get in the Pro Bowl?"

This town also roasted Phil Simms in the first 4-5 years of his career, and all turned out well

And for the record, in Simms first 4-5 years, he could not hold Eli Mannings jock strap. Eli is Peytons brother, he was the top pick in the draft, and he plays in the #1 market. You can imagine all those factors hold him to an entirely different level of expectations then just about any other QB in the league. Hes probably the most scrutinized QB to ever play in the NFL

have you follow giants football? apparently not, majority of Eli ints have come in garbage time thus lowering his qb rating.
Completion percentage? the originial poster obviously didnt watch the giants vs skins game. Our receivers havent been holding on to the ball.

I watched Eli play in college and have followed him in NYG, waiting for him to make the leap, mostly because I want him to make his brother look bad, but also because, in spite of meathead fans like you, the Giants are an adopted NFC team for many older New England football fans. Suffice to say, Eli is not showing the ability to become a top-flight NFL starter. He is consistently inconsistent.

Rivers isnt any better then Eli

Merriman is a roid head who wouldnt even have been on the Giants radar because he doesnt fit in a 43 scheme

And Kaeding has already cost the Chargers a playoff game because he couldnt make a 40 yarder against the Jets

worst qb in the nfl and im a giants fan

and im dead serious

This is not a realistic statement.

Thats definitely a reallistic statement

Combine all the factors in his entrance into the league, and no one has played under a bigger microscope. He was the top pick, he told SD to go screw themselves, he plays in the biggest media market, and his brother is on his way to owning every career passing record imaginable.

No one else even comes close. the microscope he plays under dwarfs that of any other QB who has ever entered the league

I don't like Rivers, but over the last 2 season he has outplayed Eli by every meaningful measure of Qb play: wins, completion %, TD to INT ratio, passer rating, etc. Most importantly, despite acting like a jerk, which Eli is not, Rivers plays with courage. If you watched him limp through the Titan game taken numerous vicious hits, you would agree. As far as Merriman goes, you would be proclaiming him the 2nd coming of LT if he played for the G-men. I don't dislike Eli, I actually root for him to do well, since the G-men are my dad's team. That makes it so much worse. But you have to face facts, and not be fooled by a decent game here or there. The sooner the giant front office and their fans realize Eli must go the better the franchise will be. Otherwise you will extend misery out for another 5 years, and then have to rebuild for another 5 years to reach SB nirvana.
