It has been proposed that fans who actually root for the Patriots start their own forum.

I think this is a great idea. I know I don't spend all this time here because I'm some sort of "objective" football expert. I'm a Patriots fan only and would love to have a game thread where "we suck, we're awful" wasn't considered commentary.

Why don't you homers simply create your own board, "homer central"

Apparently one poster has agreed to leave our game thread alone. If we kept the other whiners out, we could actually have only rooting and constructive criticism in the game thread.

Since we'd be composed solely of fans who've followed the team more than two weeks, we might have some intelligent discussions too.

What do you think "homers"? sounds like a winner to me!

Fabulous!!!

I hope you get support from your other homers. Ask one of your homer moderators to make it a sticky.

Now finally, the rest of the forum can be free for people who actually want to discuss the REALITY of how the team's playing and the potential consequences without having to hear the immature children pitch a fit that someone dares to have a different opinion.

I hope you conduct your membership drive soon.

Once you and the other complainers get to enjoy sitting in your enlarged playpen flinging monkey poo once a week, you'll never want to listen to boring "homers" discuss the greatest team of the century.

:bricks:

You forgot to mention that Michael Bishop is a better QB than Tom Brady.

Where can I sign up for the Homer's forum, the glass is 7/8 full of some very good kool aid.. what some of these folks need is a good dose of Rod Rust or Hugh Millen at QB.. then they will understand.

sign me up

and can the forum have some sort of a douchebag filter to prevent any of those jackass nabobs from sullying it?

Fabulous!!!

I agree. It's much more constructive to say things like our multiple-SB winning, Hall-of-Fame QB, who's just entered his prime, has "topped out."

We'd already be 20-0 with Marc Bulger!

I'll bring the potato chips!

sign me up.... I'd prefer to look at reality and the positives rather than "what if's" and oh we didn't blow out a team by 40 or we gave up a td on the first drive or we can't stop the run or the classic

"Brady is zoned in on Moss"- which I guess is true since Moss has a ton of TD's and yards, and Welker has no receptions.

where have the "glass" threads gone?

Fabulous!!!

Sorry PF1996, From your posts, Reality could run over you with a 220 ton coal hauler and you still wouldn't believe it.

BTW, do you always complain about yourself?

Here's the latest trend. As much as I question some people that call themselves "Pats fans" at least they get the concept.

First off, I am not a patriots fan nor am I am fan of any "football" team. However, I follow the sports of "football" during its season almost every week along with soccer.

Excuse me? Not even a football fan, but felt compelled to waste a perfectly good thread here?

Off to the monkey poo flinging forum for you.

Homer central is for Patriots fans only.:D

The Homerville City council just voted and they have a approved "The Official Homer Game Thread".

But, do we have to have "the official whiner/second guesser game thread"?

i think most of us come to this forum for a good argument. if everyone agreed with everything, it would be kind of boring. if you dont like someone disagreeing with you, or having a different opinion, or whining, go read columns on network websites. a forum is the wrong place for you to be.

I don't know how that'll work.

I do approve the official Homer game thread, but we'll need a bouncer.:D

So you approve of whining.

Says it all right there.

are you trying to say something contrary? because all that came out was you pointing out something i said....

A spirited debate is not the intention of game threads. That's all we're talking about here.... GAME THREAD. It would be nice to have one that allowed fans of other teams to read it without thinking that the Patriots fans consider their team to be the worst in the history of the NFL and completely incapable of defeating an opponent who's only down by a 28-7 score, for example.

As for regular forums, all that is asked is that rational arguments be used rather than the classic "Maroney sucks" sort of crap.

apologies, i had assumed the intention was for most threads. in that case, its not a bad idea, to have a game thread separate with no whining allowed..i probably wouldnt post, as my world crashes down around me when something goes wrong:D ive spent $432.85 on universal remotes this year. last year was worse

I agree. A game thread should have some relation to the actual game being played. Dissatisfied with a shaky lead? OK.

We suck!! When we're up by 3 or 4 touchdowns?

C'mon!

Fair enough. Many of the made o' glass threads are at least funny. I would never want a flag waving rosy scenario forum like some teams have.

This idea was prompted by the game thread in particular.

You know there are ways to say "we should try some screen passes", or "even though we're winning, I don't like this trend" or some such thing.

It's just that "we suck, we're awful" when we are ahead by 3 or four tds or playing in the rain leading from beginning to end just...sucks.
