The guy has had a great season.. He gets props

The players on this offense could make any OC in the league look good.

Inconsistant.
Teams know wer are gonna throw everytime and they are adjusting. We need to mix it up more.

I remember when the pats were blowing people out and I recall Morris and maroney having a lot more carries to keep the opposing D honest.

I just don't feel we are not really fooling teams of late. Sure, we can outplay most teams on talent.

There's a large contingent of people in this world who aren't happy if they don't have something to complain about. Sadly, many of them claim to be Patriots fans and look for any flaw, real or imagined, to bleat about.

Maroney...150 + yards

"we need to mix it up more!!!!!"

I think it's that he gets credit for having a great season and gets talked about as a young genius coach when he can get away with a lot of stuff because of the talent on his offense and there isn't anything particularly good about his play calling. Same deal with Billick from his Viking days and Martz from his Rams days. He's probably good at working with the players, though.

It was the same with Weis. People forget how much he was blasted during his time here except for 2004. The OC always get blamed because no one will blame Brady.

I felt it was more Brady's fault in the second half today. He keyed in on Moss too much and tried to force too many plays. He should have surveyed the field more.

Sometimes it is the execution and not the play calling.

And last year, most OC would have had the offense fall apart. Reche Caldwell couldn't make this team this year and he was our primary WR. Corey Dillon couldn't last into the second half of most games and he was our lead RB.

Tom Brady, not Josh McDaniels.

100+ on two carries. Balance? Maybe not.

yeah, you're another one of those "pretzel logic" fans

give you enough time and Maroney had negative yardage today and they lost by 28....please

yes--setting an NFL record for TDs and countless other offensive records in spite of the tremendous hole at OC...

amazing

imagine what Mike Martz could do with this talent? :bricks:

Tom Brady AND McDaniels.

I posted last year the offensive stats comparing 2003 and 2006. We played considerably better in 2006 especially in reducing the number of 3 and outs. Brady was a constant in both years. The receivers were better in 2003. McDaniels had something to do with it.

Dude, i am not a pretzel logic fan. What is our run/pass breakdown the last 4 games?

Why go and insult me instead of bringing facts to your arguement. All I did was respond with facts, you responded with nothing.

Yeah, Martz only had to work with scrubs like Tory Holt, Issac Bruce, Orlando Pace, and Marshall Faulk. I don't think the 1999 or 2001 version of those players could have even made last year's squad. Imagine a Tory Holt in his prime ever beating out Reche Caldwell? The idea is so crazy I have to laugh.

I am frustrated as well. There are times when I feel that McDaniels and Brady would rather score in style than score at all. I hate the shotgun offense when we're pinned inside our 5-yard line, I despise the long throws to a double-covered Randy Moss when other guys are open. I don't like the fact that Brady operates in the shotgun on nearly every play and I think they should run the ball a little more to keep the defense honest.

Yes, they have had a great season. Yes, McDaniels is a smart guy and Brady is a HOF QB. That doesn't mean they are above criticism.

The Dolphins are a stinky team and the Pats played down to their level in the 2nd half. Playcalling was a big reason for that.

Quote of the day for me.
Throw a little criticism out there and get hammered :)

Your response was silly in the face of 156 yards rushing. Did you expect anything else?

My response was 110 on two carries, not that they didn't run for yards.

Geez.. can people read?

Agreed to an extent. I think you have to blame the whole offense though. The receivers weren't getting open and/or Brady wasn't finding them fast enough for the line to hold and that led to Brady trying riskier passes. Heaving it up to Moss is less risky than heaving it up to anyone else. Thus Brady heaved it up to Moss more than anyone else. I also think a little hubris set in. The Dolphins stink and weren't coming back.
