What a great game. Looks like Harrison is teaching him how to bring the lumber :rocker:

Re: Merriweather...

He was pretty good. I just wish he'd HOLD ON TO THE FREAKING BALL! He's dropped 3 easy INT's this year.

Re: Merriweather...

Had a big hit and almost had that INT, showing progress indeed.

Re: Merriweather...

Dropped another sure pick though!

Re: Merriweather...

He played well with his opportunities, but let's not go overboard. He made like three plays during the game. It is a positive sign, but I don't know if it was a great game.

Re: Merriweather...

This was deffinently his best game as a pro, put a good pop on TGJr...

Re: Merriweather...

I didn't see anything special. I think his future might be at CB. He's real thin for a safety.

Re: Merriweather...

I don't get it...what happened to the barrage of threads that were being made a few weeks ago about Pioli's drafts "sucking" and Meriweather being our most recent bust?

You have to have patience with rookies/very young players. Apparently, some people just don't understand this concept.

I remember a DB that started out exactly like that. Very frustrating..

Of course Asante did start holding on to them after a while. :D

Re: Merriweather...

Working in Wilson and Meriweather, Sanders has looked good and Rodney has looked like Rodney.

I see some real strong passing packages with less LBs and more safety play!

I thought he was fantastic yesterday. Fantastic from where he was a few weeks ago anyway. He seems far less hesitant out there now; putting his shoulder into people, attempting to undercut routes, all that good stuff.

Very promising improvements.

He needs to lose Asante's hands from his rookie year though.

brandon is coming toghether nicely. he doesnt miss assignments as often, but it looks like he is so excited when a ball comes his way he drops it. on the other side, sanders is kicking hole out there.
anything taken in the first or second rounds by bioli will be nothing less than great. just a little patience..

just a little patience..

Please tell this to National Sports Advisors who seems to not understand this concept.

its about time we see him get more playing time, and he proved himself out there

wonder if he will be out there next week for more snaps, and into the playoffs...

Better than having Baker out there.

Didn't that big hit of his come at the end of an 11 yard running play? That's no time to pat yourself on the back IMO. Its progress, but its now time for him to raise his standards and not be real proud when a guy's allowed to run 11 yards down field on first down. If it had been 3rd and 12 when he made the hit, that would have been different.

What a luxury to have the depth at Safety so that the young first rounder can learn from some of the best at that position and continue a tradition of having a strong Safety corps for years to come. This kid is going to be good! I saw a lot of good stuff from him against the Dolphins, and he's getting more involved with each game he plays. This is going to prove to be another good pick by the team.

Let's not go overboard. He played well as a dimeback. It is promising, but he still has a long way to go to live up to the first round selection he was.

Not trashing the guy, but I wouldn't use words like "fantastic", "great", or "awesome" to describe what he did yesterday. I'll say he played well with the opportunties he was given, but I still would expect more out of a first round pick in week 16.

I'm not giving up on the guy. In fact, this is the first time I am encouraged about the guy all season. But I am not ready to think he has turned it around and is playing anywhere near where he should be at this point

Huh? He's the perfect size for a free safety.
