Thoughts? (prelim playoff bracket)

The Colts have the easiest matchup - that much is clear.

Unless there are folks out there who wouldn't prefer a Willie Parkerless Steelers team or a #6 seed over the Jags or Chargers.

That's obviously an ironic turn of events seeing as the Pats wrapped up the top seed long ago - but that's the way football is.

Winning a Super Bowl is never an easy thing to do.

I have seen a lot of threads about pats colts rematch blah blah blah. Look patsies, and listen for once. You guys had better take the Jags seriously. They can run the ball better than both of our teams. Their defense is bigger, faster, and better than both of our teams. And they have a QB who doesnt make very many mistakes. Ok, some of you are going to give the lunkhead response, and some of you are very well spoken and intelligent fans. So just be aware that the Jags are far from a gimmie win for anyone.

premature...they have to get to us first...come back when they actually DO something

It is premature idiot. Hence the thread disscussing the brackets PREMATURLEY. I thought you were sharp as a flat rock.:bricks:

I think that people are forgetting that after the first round of games, they reseed and the Pats get the lowest seeded team remaining in the competition. That could be the Browns. Too soon to worry before the first round is played.

What exactly are you basing the Jags having a better defense than the Colts Steelers or Pats on? They don't. Their secondary is mediocre at best and Stroud is out so they can certainly be run upon. It's still a strength, but it definitely is not better than any of the first 3 seeds or Tennesee.

Id say Pitt vs Ne on Jan 12th... 800 pm..

If the Chargers and Steelers win out, SD will be the #3 seed. Also, the Titans would beat Cleveland on common games if they both win out. So the bracket is still fairly unsettled and will likely end up SD-TEN/CLE and PIT-JAX. In the division round, it very well could be IND-SD and NE-PIT/JAX.

The only certain thing is that NE won't play the #3 seed in the division round and Indy won't play the #6 seed.

Cool. Take em for granted. I dont care. Its your team. We already beat em twice, and they DO have a better defense. IMO. Is that better for ya?

Jafo,do us all a favor, pull your bottom lip up over your head and swallow.

I would say the colts are in the easier bracket.

The NFL playoffs aren't a bracket like NCAA basketball. Look at the likely road for each team:

Indy = SD, at NE
Pats = PIT, IND

I know which one I would take...even if you put JAX in place of PIT.

Number 1 "we" don't play the games, The New England Patriots play the games. So if "we" want to look past any player or teams it doesn't matter because this is just an entertainment venue. As fof the Jaguars, I am more than sure the the very capable Bill Belichick has his staff already breaking every aspect of their team, if you haven't noticed he has coached this team to 3 SB not to mention 2 17+ game winning streak. Exactly how many big games have the Jags been in this year, 2 both Indy lost them BOTH compare that with Pats: Indy road game, Dallas road game,
Pittsburgh, the other great defense, hard running team, not to mention week in and week out of playing lesser opponents mini Super Bowls, Victory in every single one if them. I believe they are battle tested and will not be stopped by any team even the great Jaguars.

Does your team not have a messageboard, or have they already dumped the site due to lack of interest???

Welcome to Patriots country.

.....Look at the stats douche, Pats have the best D in the league (well tied).

The Colts already beat the Jaguars twice... the Patriots are a better team than the Colts, so why should they have a problem with the Jaguars?

Frankly, I think the Browns beat the Steelers, and the Chargers beat the Jaguars. Then the Colts have to deal with the Chargers and the Patriots get the Browns.

Let me get this straight... you lend credence to the Colts sweeping the Jags... but dismiss the fact the Steelers swept the Browns? Inconsistent.

But even beyond that, the reason the Colts sweep over the Jags doesn't have much bearing on a potential Jags-Pats matchup is this: pro football is more of a game of matchups and motivation than any other sport... hence the saying "on any given Sunday".

If thats the way it turns out it will be like last year. I.E. While we played JAX,TENN to end the regular season and then played the Bolts,all big physical teams the Colts didn't. By the time we played the Colts we were all banged up. :mad:

The Colts are a significantly better team than the Steelers... and a team much more like our own. The fact that they beat the Jaguars twice is much more significant than the fact that the Steelers beat the Browns twice. The Steelers have been exposed as frauds the last few weeks, and have been known to lose to lesser teams. The Colts have not... the two games they lost was still to a team who won its division.

What I'm saying is that I expect a Colts-Patriots AFC Championship Game, but I expect Cleveland will be coming to Foxboro. I don't think Jacksonville gets by the Chargers anyhow.

First of all, it doesn't matter how we as fans take this potential match-up. So your advice for Pats fans not to take the Jags lightly is pretty stupid. We can take them any way we please and it will have no bearing upon the game. The only important thing is that our coaches and our players won't take them lightly....they never take any team lightly....even though it would be easy to take them lightly since the Colts beat them twice!:D
