Jaws showed the pats had some weaknesses and showed a play in jets game where a missed protection led to brady's interception.
hoge says, the weather isnt the issue , the approach is because in the playoffs they will face more 'physical and oominant' teams with a running game and they will lose.
i dont get it ...jaws idea of showing the jets game and the play may be right but doesnt everyone have such kinda issues and plays ?are the jags, colts immune to such problems.
and hoge -well ..he has a found a now song to harp on. they arent physical enough. their approach of not running is going make them lose .
14 wins and things dont change.

When they were all pimping the indestructible, unbeatable, divinely annointed Pats, it was bull**** (although this is a very good team.) It is the weaving of a good, dramatic story, consistent with the facts we all observe on the field (or loosely based on them, anyway.)

Now they're setting up an "any given sunday" theory, because that's consistent with the smaller spreads we've been winning by 3 out of the last 4 weeks, and is a whole other story, in terms of creating dramatic tension.

Relax and don't sweat the media.

The media is what they are, a bunch of ratings whores who would sell their mother to the devil..

Don't listen to Hoge, he was the one who had Pittsburgh his #1 ranked team after the Pats close win over Philly. Trey and Schlereth were laughing at him. Then when the Steelers lost to the JETS, he said "nevermind", but we'll see when the Pats played his Steelers. Then after the Pats spanked his Steelers, he had the Jaguars and one other team better than the Pats again with the same the Pats is a finesse team reasoning....... He's just mad the Pats are better than his Steelers and reaching for any reason to put the Pats down. What a joke......

He thinks the factor back is more important than the qb. On a side note, he didn't think New Coke was a bid idea either.

Hoge is a strange one. No matter what he shows on a week-to-week basis, his conclusion will always be based on what he deems is "physical" play - what he actually means is "running game" and "conservative gameplan" or "Pittsburgh".

I one of the few that actually liked New Coke.
I never watch anything from ESPN anymore. That show like the network has gone down hill fast.
I watch Playbook on NFL network much better and goes deeper in their analysis.

Hoge is a great comedic figure. He has a schtick of being a Pittsburgh fanboy and loving the running game. So he likes to slam passing teams, like the 2007 Patriots, and he did the same with the 2004 Eagles. It's hilarious to see him stick with it despite all the evidence to the contary.

Don't listen to Merrill, he's a hobbit !!

I have no idea why you guys continue to listen to anyone from ESPN. I've boycotted that channel long ago. Hey Hoge, we are not physical enough eh?
Go ask the Jets how that worked out for them. They lost their so called "QB of the future" with one hit from Seymour.

I am tired of listening to the media in general. Sometimes I wonder if they even watch the game anymore. If I hear one more talking head talk about how the Pats will have trouble with the Colts because they can run the ball, I'm going to throw my remote through the screen.

The Colts can run the ball? Really? Then why are they 16th in rushing yards (the Pats are 12th and they don't even try to rush the ball) and 25th in YPC (the Pats are 14th). These talking heads are still living in the first half of the season when the Colts could actually run the ball because they can't now.

Same with this whole Jaguars bandwagon thing. They point to how they beat the Steelers last week as proof of how they can beat the Pats, but didn't the Pats beat the Steelers even worse the week before?

Although Jaws does his homework more than any other talking head, he isn't immune to trying to overhype single game trends and overhype short trends.

HHHMM...wouldn't hoge say that his squeelers were a more physical team? Don't they have a running game? Didn't the Patriots play them?

How did that turn out?
