I hate all of them except Mercury Morris.

Mercury is the only one that i like

Interesting perspectives from all, especially on Nick B. I am glad to finally know all of this. I guess I didn't like the guy for the disdain it seemed he had for the Pats. I did think back on Inside the NFL that time, he went a little overboard on his "celebration" of watching the last undefeated team go down though. But, hearing you guys' perspectives is certainly making me rethink my opinions in that regard. Thanks for the insight. Seeing the nature of his trade from the Pats, I guess I can understand his disdain, if any. Being a Springfield Mass, guy, my guess is he would have preferred to play for the Pats his whole career. And, again, AZ, I applaud his work in this charitable organizations. Of course, we never hear about things like that, at least not often. The "wonderful" media would prefer to discuss a player's drug habits, or who he is "banging" and other side shows, rather than things like that they should make people aware of.

I'll change it up a bit.

The only guy I like from that team is Bob Griese. I felt bad for him a couple of weeks ago when he was on ESPN with that idiot Morris. He looked extremely uncomfortable as Morris was rambling on.

If Griese wasn't a Disney/ABC/ESPN employee I'm sure he would not have been part of that mess.

I have to agree with you on that. Even though a number of the "72-ers" have made a few snide remarks here and there, this guy (Morris) seems to be making the biggest fool of himself (next to Shula).

I never liked Shula and the last few months have made me dislike him even more. Morris is a joke. Did you see his "rap" on SportCenter a few weeks ago?

LOL that is hysterical best part if you wanna go undefeated you have to win every game.
Wow that took alot of thought how hard do you think the sports casters laughed after the show?

That quote was hysterical. Who would have thought that you need to win every game to go undefeated?

No fair!
They needed to make that rule BEFORE the season started.
The NFL and Goodell are always screwing the Pats.

Unable to hold his jubilant glee, and maintain his "professionalism"

Who in their right mind would expect an alum to hold his tongue in an extreme situation like that?

They are still competing, don't you see? Do you think guys don't want to compete just because they're retired? The networks know who they're hiring to do games, and it's no surprise that competitive ex-players would have a reaction like that.

I think they're all a bunch of pathetic old geezers. I can't wait to watch them piss their depends when the Pats steal their precious record.

I couldn't agree more......but if I had to pick one it would be "Crackhead" Morris......

Shula is an embarrassment......If you look at all the shady sh## that went on at his hands during that 72 season.....it was unreal.....He is a demented jackbag!!!......Morris has nothing else to hang on to right now......besides his crack pipe.......

Nick Bouniconti was one of the reasons I became a Pats fan. When there just were not many of us back in the '60s.

Undersized, he played his heart out, and was a many time AFL ALL-star. It was his heady leadership, blitzing ability from the MLB position, that made his as good as any LB in pro football. He continued that way until Butkus came in half way through his career. And Tedy Bruschi at his best resembes his play, and Team spirit, except Nick was much better.

When Cleve Rush was hired as a Coach, replacing Mike Holovak, he traded Nick to Miami for a bundle of players, none of whom were worth a bucket of warm spit.

It was like trading Brian Urlacher for Hank Poteat, Justin Rodgers, Cedric Cobb and player to be named later. Don Shula new to the Phish, stole the Pat's doofus blind. Nick provided the veteran leadership that solidified the Dolphins expansion Defense. There were others who got the notriety, but the original 'Killer B" was Nick.

Wthout him the Phish never would have gone 17-0

He became a lawyer while with the Pats studying at Suffolk U and after his son got hurt he has done great chritable work in founding and funding the research that is conquering paralysis.

He has gotten elected to the Hall of Fame and is one of three ex-Pats to do so.

That kid up in Buffalo is walking today thanks to Nick Bouniconti.

Thank You and now ... GO AWAY! :rocker:

You think Bunni****i was better than Bruschi? NO way........!!!!!

I suppose so, maybe you are right.

For me, it is Nick Buonticounti. For some reason the guy just rubs me the wrong way. I realize he played for the Pats. Never cared for him on HBO's "Inside the NFL", especially when the last undefeated team in any season would lose. I will never forget in 1983, when Dallas was 7-0, and lost to San Diego, I believe. Unable to hold his jubilant glee, and maintain his "professionalism", he threw up his hands in the air, and made a remark something to the extent "I love it, and the Miami perfect season is saved, Thank Goodness". I don't know, maybe there are worse ones than him, I guess.

gotta feel for nick after what happened to his son.

i feel for his son. i remember that play well. all the poor kid tried to do was stick his hat in there and make a tackle. up to that point nick b was an arrogant p***k that embraced and loved the dolphins and never let a chance go by to defame the pats. the work he does for his paralysis foundation is admirable, but he turned his back on the pats long before that. he also leads the "champagne brigade". my heart goes out to marc but nick can eff off.

Don Shula is a cawksukah. STFU already! If you can't let go of the past, at least give it up to the Pats. Can't wait til next Sunday night! :eat3: :woohoo:
