Weather this week, Giants next = doubtful passing TD records

It almost looks like a conspiracy: tomorrow the forecast is for 30 mph wind and rain, then clear to partly cloudy through the following five days. I think we see a game plan focused on the running attack, especially since Miami is stronger against the pass. BB will not emphasize going for the Brady/Moss touchdown passing records unless the game is well in hand. If the Giants need a win next week to make the playoffs, that would further limit things IMO.

Brady needs FIVE touchdown passes in TWO games to beat Manning's record, Moss needs FOUR touchdown catches in TWO games to break Rice's record. I hope like heck it happens, but I'm not optimistic it will. I'll be thrilled just to go 16-0.

This winter has flat out blown, weather-wise. On the plus side, I can't imagine this continuing through January, New England weather just doesn't stay that consistent.

As for records...Brady is going to have to pass it in from closer to the goal line is all. Use Maroney to get it down there and toss it to Moss from the 1. I really want Brady to pass Manning's record, and think there's a decent chance for it, no matter the weater. Moss is less likely for sure.

Not looking good for passing, I agree. But it could still happen. Best chance is if someone can make a big play. Moss has to stop dropping passes (what is it, 3 in the last 3 games?). Maybe Stallworth (remember him?) can get on the field and Brady will actually throw him a ball. He is our biggest threat to break one after the catch. Maybe Maroney takes off with a short pass. Maybe they give Troy Brown a shot at his last TD catch in Foxboro. We have not had a big play go for a TD in a while. Heck, take away the big plays on defense and STs and the offense did not even get a TD last week.

Brady threw TD passes in Balt & he can do so tommorrow if that is what the game plan calls for.

Since we last played them they haven't given up more than 209 passing yards in a game.

Miami is 5th in the league in passing yards allowed but they're 29th in YPA allowed and tied for 24/5/6 in passing TD allowed. I haven't watched many games but I can only assume teams run more with the lead as Miami has faced the fewest passing attempts in the league.

Giants are average across the board, 19th in passing TD allowed 16th in YPA allowed and 11th in passing yards allowed.

Brady can definitely do it - too bad he didn't get one last week to make it a little easier.

The latest forecast is actually improving.

The odds of light rain when the game starts is down to 50% versus 60% before. Temperatures will actually be rising as the game goes on. It seems like a much better situation weatherwise than the Jets game last week.

The winds will be lightest when the game starts, then get stronger later. Maybe they should start out throwing every down?

Sunday...Cloudy. A chance of drizzle in the morning...then a chance of rain in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 40s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph...increasing to 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Could be a lot worse and not as bad as last Sunday.

I don't think the record will happen. No big deal! It would have been nice, but everyone had to know that the Northeast Weather would get the best of those 5 + TD games. The last bunch of games on the schedule were all played outdoors in the colder climates...not in domes like the current record holder

iam may be the minority and mean no offense to anyone..but all the weather watching threads -more than one a day- makes us look like the colts of the old...who cares what it is as long as we win ?..it is going to bad for next 2 months and we need to play tough physical football like we played in 2003 and 2004. Cant keep doing a weather watch every sunday ...else we should just forfeit homefield and play in SD/jax or the Indy dome in the playoffs and get all those records which dont mean anything without a win.

It's two different things. I think we agree that all that matters is winning. However the passing records are still in play and that's what this thread is about - and the weather does affect that piece of tomorrow's action.

Exactly. And another factor for me personally is figuring what I have to do to feel comfortable sitting under whatever the sky happens to bring with it on game day. I'm always watching the hourly forecasts this time of year.

I had a chance for tix, but had to pass...I have to work today (I am at the office right now...lol) and have to work on Monday. My wife is insisting on QFT tomorrow. So, the compromise is, I got to invite a buddy down to the house to watch the game. If you are going, think of me at halftime, I will be in my hottub, with a cold beer, toasting all of you at the game!

Whatever happened to the good ole days when a warm weather team was coming to Foxboro and we all used to salivate???? Do not worry....Miami will struggle in that cold weather......Brady and company will take it to them hard....GO PATS!!!!!!!
