I think it would great if they got this, because coupled with a likely highest-ever points scored total, having the lowest points allowed in the league would really be incredible--consider the difficulty in maintaining focus with all those points on the board.

Right now, they're behind Tampa by 14 points. If the Pats threw a shutout at the Dolphins, they'd probably look pretty good for this--the problem is that Tampa plays SF this week, and we all know all much they score. Still, would be fun if it happens.

Thats damn good considering the offenses we've faced. We've had better defenses, but we damn sure don't need them with this offense

ha, watch THAT happen, LOL

then how would the media explain the "old and slow lb's of new england" and the whole defense as being bad?

we have a championship defense, i said it a while ago, it hasnt changed

It's hard to believe that we would beat out Pittsburgh, them with that mudpit of a field and all.

Only 4 teams this year have followed their loss to the Pats with a win the following week. Guess that says something about our old D.....

Colts D has allowed 1 point less than ours. But once again this is incredible considering how good our O has been!

The critics will just say that because we blew out teams, they were forced out of their game plans and that total yards is a far better stat to look at. When they realize we are 4th in total yards allowed, they will backtrack and say that its not a good stat to look at and will call our front line old and go back to the "they can't stop the run" line. When they realize we average less than 100 yards rushing against, they will just say that the defense is old and will break down.

And now they're tied with Tampa! With the Giants clinching a spot, I like the Pats' chances for shutting down what is a pretty anemic attack anyway.

Well the Giants only have the 21st ranked passing offense, but they do have the #4 ranked rushing offense to compensate. Brandon Jacobs is really starting to tear it up lately. Ward is not a bad #2 RB either.

I'd love to get this as well! I'm expecting a big win Saturday, so I see it.

But for anyone interested, Bucs will be taking on a Panthers team that is ranked 29th in PPG and 30th in yards, at home.

Do remember though folks, the Bucs have nothing to play for. They have clinched the 4th seed, and can not move up to the 3rd.

Is that why they rolled over vs the 49ers? That was still disgraceful however. They have the superior team.

It's pretty much a nobrainer that the Pats will set the scoring record against the Giants, they only need 6 more points after the Dolphins game ended.

yup, and all we need is brown to score a TD

and two Brady to Moss TD completions....

Well, now they're tied with TB for 1st, so it looks like your wiish could come true.

If Gruden hadn't come out and said he would have the same approach in game sixteen that he had in game fifteen I'd be concerned with the Panthers craptastic offense. Given that the Buccaneers Defense 2.0 allowed 21 points to San Francisco this past week (who are even worse than the Panthers in scoring), I have great confidence in the Patriots' shots at finishing first.

You do know Ward is on IR with a broken leg, right?
