I really believe at this point it will be a PSqd player..maybe Thomas SL...OR Rader TE..OR OL Connaly all depending on Brady (Kyle that is) If Rivers is around..he MIGHT also be an addition, but really..if he is NOT here now.. it will be hard..thoughts? AT this late date, I'm thinking it's a promotion off the PSqd..NOT a new player.

well, they may leave the spot open for now.
Anyone they add may end up being inactive anyway so
might as well leave PS guys where they are.
They recently went outside for a TE and DL guy instead of
activating off the PS.

Well, the Pats did NOT have someone on the PS to fill in at NT. Santonio Thomas is more of a DE and not a NT.

Yes, its true that the Pats brought in Spach over bringing up Rader. Rader could be an option for pormotion against the Dolphins, but I doubt it.

I also doubt that the Pats bring in Rivers. They would have done so if they wanted him prior to bringing in Spach.

As for whether they don't fill the position. I don't know if the Pats CAN leave it open without losing both Bam Childress and Santonio Thomas to free agency immediately. When they added the 3rd year of eligibility to the Practice Squad, there was a stipulation ( I thought) that players could only use that third year IF the team roster stayed FULL the entire season.

If someone like MO could verify this, it be appreciated.

THAT is the Yates rule..3rd year PSqd...they can NOT leave it open..or they will have to promote one OR the other to the 53...I do NOT know if the penalty is FA for both immediately...I believe they would have to promote one to the 53 squad..that THAT is wht they would NEED to do
THAT is why they will NOT leave it open..
I agree Thomas is a DE no NT on the 8...I think that Rader may be injured..he was earlier in the year when released.. I also think they liked Spaxh..the Fresno St connectrion...but I think they will promote someone..and I DO think there is a good chance who they promote will be activated..

I will always hope for Edgerton Hartwell.

BB Puts Bam on the roster once every year so there you go

NOT this year...I think mayve TE or OL or DL....I would be surprised by another position..

Troy Brown? Or has he already been activated?

I wouldn't complain. I also wonder how healthy Al Wilson, Isaiah Kacyvenski and Orlando Huff are. I would even call Liam Ezekial, if only to wish him Happy Holidays. I don't understand why there hasn't been a LB on the PS since Corey Mays was claimed by the Bungles.

If the FO is looking for a TE, then it needs look no farther than Eastie, home of Wiggie. I was very disappointed that he was not signed after Dave Thomas was IR'ed, shortly after he was foolishly removed from the PUP list.

When Rashad Moore was signed, I asked myself: Self, does the FO believe that LeKevin Smith's best position is really 3-4 DE? I don't know if he has the explosiveness and lateral agility to be effective closer to the edge. Don't eat too much Christmas goose, Bobby Hamilton.

What it may boil down to is, what position group is less healthy, therefore less deep, at gametime?

And if a second roster spot is needed, there is always the spot occupied by the useless 3rd QB position.
