BB & Parcells on good terms?

So are BB / Parcells on good / respecting terms, or is there bitterness from the past?

Following the theme of others -- it's my understanding that BP and BB buried the hatchet and are on reasonably friendly terms now.

I think the buried the hatchet in NY a few months before Harry Carson was inducted into the Hall of Fame...They had a big dinner for him in NY during the summer and both were there.

BB always had the brains, but he's borrowed heavily from the Parcells bag of toughness, motivation and tricks.

Notice how he has the veterans administer discipline. That's Parcells all the way. He once left a practice disgusted and put Pepper Johnson in charge.

BB will never be a Parcellian drama queen, but most of what he's learned about leadership is finding bits of Parcell that fit his more subdued style.

He admits part of his problem in Cleveland was trying to be a hardass at press conferences and with players which didn't work for him because his personality is so different from parcells.

I would only add that Parcells likes to believe that he is still a father figure of sorts to BB and Parcells has long ago buried the hatchet, while on the other hand BB is perfectly straightforward in dealing with Parcells, but quite frankly does not seem to have warmed up to him any further and still likely has a fair amount of disdain for Parcells.

I think Parcells is more concerned about keeping up their relationship, while BB is more concerned about grinding out superbowl wins in rapid succession.

For sure, BB has blown by him. They were never warm. Parcells would sarcastically challenge him and berate him, because he knew he wanted to be a head coach. BB is ultra competitive and I'm sure this helped him.

No way they ever "liked" each other, though.

Maybe they've softened since there's no real competition anymore. Parcells is an old grey mare.

BB remained friendly with Saban when he was with the Dolphins.

Actually I read a while ago that Bill was pretty depressed after his brother died, likely feeling rather alone post divorce and increasingly aware of his own mortality, and he began to do some self assessment about his life and relationships and the mistakes he'd made. He then proceeded to make amends with some of the people he cared about who never felt it. Bill was near the top of the list. He can still be an SOB and his public ego at least remains in tact, but he doesn't have the depth of drive he had for many years. You could see it in Dallas the last two years - stuff wore him out and players wore him down.

It will be interesting to see how he proceeds in Miami, and if he hires a puppet and is front and center with the media. If so, this too will fail. But it beats golf and the ponies 24/7 and it pays a lot better than ESPN.

Parcells also seems to have some late onset ADD, never seems to be able to complete the task as someone is offering a better entre... in the front office Parcells will be no match for our dynamic duo and their staff.

Really? Without Brady where do you think BB would be, would he have won 3 SB's in NE...maybe...maybe not.

Obviously BB found a diamond in Michigan. I think this has a lot to do with his success. BP can be every bit as successful in Miami if he found the right guy. Let's hope he dosen't. BB is a great coach but he has damn good players. BP knows the kinds of players that can win championships and if he finds that mix in Miami then who's to say that they can't be every bit as successful.

BB won a championship with one of the least talented teams in the league because he had a lot of fire and coached the hell out of them.

Parcells used to have that fire. No more.

If anyone thinks Brady was a great quarterback in 2001, they misremember. He was a raw system QB who wasn't asked to do much.
