...Has to be Mike Vrabel.

Guy is without a doubt everything you could ask for in a Patriot and more.

Can anyone top him?

Dillon was a good one. But Vrabe's is the man. I hope he gets into the HOF some day.

Dillon was acquired in a trade.

It probably is Vrabel. The guy has been nothing short of awesome in this defense.

Traded. But even still.

Would you take the few good years of Dillon over the 6+ great years of Vrabel?

When I read the subject of the thread, Dillon leapt to mind immediately. But Vrabel has had more of an impact long-term.

Oh and I know it's early but Welker's been pretty good too. :D

Edit: Ah, forgot Dillon was acquired thru trade.

So was Welker. And Moss. And Starks. ooops.

Technically, so was Welker.

He was a RFA? We had to give up a pick, but that's not a trade.

Rodney Harrison hands down.

Rodney Harrison was a pretty good FA signing :)

Have there been any league wide FA signings better than Vrabel?

You could argue Reggie White, but he won only 1 SB.

I'd say Vrabel then Harrison. I love Harrison but Vrabel was younger with more time left when we signed him.

Antione Smith. He helped the Pats to their first super bowl and kick off the domino effect of getting guys who "want to play for a winner".

Edit: That being said, the FA signing that added the most value? I'd take Harrison in a toss-up between Vrabel and Harrison.

Jason Taylor..... oh wait that's next year

My dream too (and I believe his), but that just got squashed with the Tuna heading south. No way he lets him go.

If we'd have signed him as RFA, we'd have only given up our 2nd rounder. Since we threw in an extra pick, it was technically a trade.
