NFL signs deal with Ticketmaster
Tampa Bay Business Journal

Terms of the multi-year partnership were not disclosed.
Ticketmaster will create the "NFL Ticket Exchange," which will be found on both
Ticketmaster.com <http://ticketmaster.com/> and NFL.com <http://nfl.com/>. Ticketmaster already provides primary ticket services, including advance and onsite single game ticket sales, season ticketing and group ticketing for 31 NFL teams.
Additionally, TicketExchange, Ticketmaster's fan resale ticketing platform that is currently used by 18 NFL teams, is set to start using TicketExchange in 2008.

So is this basically a league-wide season ticket reselling thing similar to what the Pats already have? Or is this something totally different?

Yup. with added security features, supposedly.

>>>>Ticketmaster plans to guarantee the resold tickets, which are sent to buyers electronically, just like it does with its regular primary ticket sales.
The company is counting on that security feature and the NFL branding to woo prospective ticket buyers and sellers.
"It's going to be safe, it's going to be reliable, it's going to be efficient," Korman said. "When you show up at the gate, you're ensured that ticket is going to be valid."<<<<
