Why are banned people allowed to post?

I was just wondering why people who have been clearly banned are allowed to open another ID and keep posting? The mods certainly know, but don't seem to care. IE Aqua4ever=TWguru. Isn't it the mods jobs to monitor this?

they don't ban just your name. they ban your ip address. so if you have a dynamic ip (changes constantly) you can get back in.
i got banned for YEARS, cause my ip address stayed the same. couldnt even view posts, nevermind post something.
never did find out why i got banned....if a mod reads this, could you tell me?

some people will sign up to use an ISP masker - there's plenty of sites on the web that advertise that type of service.

Ian has been advise about his so it's in his hands. He's the only one who can do anything about it.

No, I am going to have to disagree. Standing up for what is right and just is never a cheap shot.

Yes I know all about IP anonymiser because I use one, but that isn't the point at all. People like Aqua and Quigon have been posting under new IDs and don't even hide the fact. The have been doing it for quite a while, and the mods/admin has clearly known about and has not acted. Why? It doesn't take a week-three weeks to solve the problem.

It does when there is a host of issues that have to be addressed and people have jobs and families. It does when attention is averted to trolls or others who jam up eamils and PM's complaining.

Quigon is something and I probably other mods were not aware of as he sledom post on the football forums. If he was banned it was probably because of something on the political forum. If you are positive about it then you should PM a mod on that forum and share your knowledge.

let me ask this--you have 7 posts and seem to have an intimate knowledge of Patters--were you banned?

personally, it shouldn't concern anyone whether a poster is banned, returns, is unbanned, is temporarily reinstated, etc. life is bigger than what happens on Ian's messageboards...

I appreciate the kind suggestion but i am very busy with a full time and part time job on the side, and i could never do this for free. It seems pretty aggravating and kinda difficult. Also, IAN would sooner have NEM be a mod than myself.:singing: so i really don't even have to explain why i couldn't do it, because it would never happen.

I just would leave the part about me out next time. They won't take you seriously.
