WFAN totally dissed Brady

I was flipping through the dial just now and landed on WFAN. Some guy calls in and talks about how Brady looked during his combine (a scarecrow) and how he looks now and how there's no way he's not juicing given how he "became a success overnight". The hosts said they didn't know but he could be and then went on to say "how could he if he's impregnating all these women?". Then they start talking about drugs he could be taking to counter the effect and reiterated that he could be juicing.

I don't mind some banter back and forth but this seemed a little over the top.

A caller called in???? And this is something that anyone should talk about??

Yikes, over the top dumb.

Dude, screw a caller, half the callers in NY are sausage delivery men that have the brain capacity of a bratwurst. Often enough, I scratch my head to the point of wondering if some of these people were hit by a semi at a young age.

And the other half are sausage recipients. Too bad they come here to get married. :bricks:

Again, my point was NOT what the caller was saying but rather the radio show hosts comments/attitude TO the comment.

Let the Buttafuocos talk.

Pats fans: Embrace the Hate.

It's all about jealousy. If sports mean something to you, and you are a lowlife and a Yankees, Jets, and Knicks fan, this is what happens.

Brady put on about 25 pounds of muscle in the 2000-2001 offseason. So his growth from what he was in February 2000 isn't just over the course of 7 years or so. There's no evidence Brady used 'roids, but it's not something that can be categorically dismissed, since none of us really know. We at least should all be able to degree that it's silly speculation on both sides of the issue.

Really?!? Steroids can give you ice water in your veins when you have less than two minutes left and no time outs in the Super Bowl after the opposing team just came back from down 14?

Damn, Steroids are a lot better than I thought they were.

You know, I am SURE that he is not on the juice. But if I think wildly and imagine that someday I found out Brady was a juicer... I just might kill myself.

Okayyyyy.

If I called in to WFAN and said maybe Brady sold his soul to the devil, the one with the pitchfork and horns, not Belichick, does someone have to prove he did not?

We have about the same level of evidence for the idea, slim to none.

Let's recap, despite the lack of a burden of proof. Facts in favor of hypothesis:

- he put on some weight. One guy here says it was all in one offseason. Others say over 7 years.

- He started out incredibly skinny

Mitigating factors:

- No proof or belief that he did, other than he put on some weight

- As skinny as he started out, an alternate explanation to anyone who has the remotest casual interest in morphology would be that his body was at the beginning, rather than completion, of the maturation curve. He wasn't grown up yet. People do this at different times, with even early bloomers putting a good deal on in their early 20s.

- He regularly wins the Pats' little informal who-works-out-the-most contest that results in the workout warrior parking spot. That's against gigantic linemen, psycho linebackers and safeties, etc.

- Pregnant supermodels

- A personality that has never in any public setting -- and he puts himself in plenty of them -- seems irritated or angry

- poise on and off the field suggests behavioral effects of supposed roid use are negligible

- No preternatural muscle bulk... did he just juice up "a little" or something?

This thread is exactly why Pats fans get such a bad rap nationally. What a bunch of thin-skinned ninnies you all are.

Honestly, why is this even a topic of discussion? Far worse gets said about opposing athletes on Boston sports radio every day. You people need to accept that people hate us, our teams and anything associated in between. It's a fact of life going forward as a Boston sports fan. Deal with it.

I'm sure we all appreciate the life lesson. Thanks for letting us know how to think and what to deal with.

This thread shouldn't have seen the light of day. Opinion of a caller in to a sports talk show. Give me a break.

Ok... hopefully for the last time... this was not about the caller! This was about how the radio hosts responded to the initial claim about the juice and then went into Tom impregnating multiple women, etc. I'm laying this at the hosts feet, not the callers.

Overnight? I think those guys have been asleep at the switch and don't even know it.

If they think that this year is an anomaly I have news for them. Anybody with half a brain could see that he finally has some receivers, and he's been in the same system for years.

Anybody with any sense can see how seriously he works and works out. He's a workaholic, he's aging, he's putting on weight that looks pretty normal to me.

Can I really blame Fatso and Fruit Loops for being the most ignorant over the top Patriots haters on the East Coast who will stoop to any sewer level take they can to smear the Patriots?

sure I can.

BTW..."Pennington >>>> Brady"...how'd that work out for you gaggling little Jet girls?

Brady put on pounds? Must be like me.

When you got a tool like mine, you gotta build a shed over it.

I listen to Boomer/Karten and they love Brady as does Joe DeBenigno who would love to see Brady play for the Jets. I never heard MadDog ever diss Brady and Francesca is on holiday.

I doubt Mike and Chris would ever go to the extent the other guys did. I checked the on-air programming page on-line and, unless they were out, it was Joe Benigno & Evan Roberts as it was their slot when I tuned in.
