Was just talking about it.

BTW-any chance Vinny and Meshawn have jobs again?:singing:

were they speculating, or did they have any evidence

They said the Falcons are interested in bringing in Parcells in a non-HC capacity. I just read somewhere in the last 2 weeks that the Big Fish was interested in being a GM or club president. Maybe Arthur Blank read the same thing -:)

thats certainly what they need right now. someone to at least get them on the track and moving. they seem to be drowning pretty bad right now

Does this mean McKay is on the outs with Blank?

Nah. He locked up Vick with a $130M contract before Vick could hit free agency, got a nice draft pick for Matt Schaub this offseason, and then kicked the rebuilding process into high gear by hiring the best college coach available before this season. He's feeling pretty secure right now.

Since Parcells works for ESPN, they probably have a good feel for what is happening.

I heard the report again and they said the Big Fish would be VP of Football Operations and could name his own GM and HC. Isn't McKay GM now?

Do you think he will poach off our roster at all?
You know Mcdaniels as head coach?
Johnson as D coordinator things like that?
I surely hope not hopefully for revenge he poaches off of Mangina's staff or Dallas's.
I'm calling it now either Garret or Mcdaniels will be the head coach of the Falcons.

Sources: ESPN's Parcells considering vice president offer from Falcons

Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank has put a full-court press on Bill Parcells to become the team's vice president of football operations, according to multiple sources.

Parcells could accept or reject the job as early as Wednesday, the sources said, and he is giving it serious consideration.

Parcells would not become Atlanta's new coach but sources say he would be authorized to hire the team's next coach, as well as re-organize the personnel department. He also could hire a new general manager if he and Blank agree that one is necessary.

Blank has informed general manager Rich McKay that McKay will not return in the same role, even though the owner wants McKay to remain as the team's president, sources said.

Blank's talks with Parcells evolved from an advisory role into a firm offer to rebuild his football operation, the sources said.

"I've got nothing to say," said Parcells before he hung up the phone Tuesday. Blank could not be reached for comment.

:rocker: :rocker: And you didn't crack a smile. well done!

Pray, Pray, Pray that Parcels goes to Atlanta!!!

His other rumored option is MIAMI!!!

Last thing we need in the AFC East is BB, The RAT and Tuna all looking for the same players and beating each other Back and Blue twice a year.

In Atlanta the only time we would see his team would be once a decade or in the SB.

actually, it would be twice a decade, but, your point's taken.

I love the suggestion that Parcells hung up on his ESPN colleague. :)

As much as I think Parcells is an a-hole, he is probably one guy that could fix mess down there. As much as I hate it, he was the one who kick started Pats' run at playoffs and jumpstarted Cowgirls when they were reeling. Hope he doesn't go to Miami lol.

Just heard on Mike and Mike that Tuna has confirmed that he is most likely to head to Atlanta. He is heading down to Atlanta today to further discuss the plan. Thank goodness he ain't going to 'Phins.

I'd love to see him quit on another team. After he left the Giants he couldn't get it done in NE and quit, couldn't get it done for the Jets and quit, couldn't get it done in Dallas and quit... I'd love to add the Falcons to the list of teams he quit on.

Good coach, but an impatient quitter.
