Welker was a HUGE snub. At least Koppen got in as a reserve.

Re: Here are our pro bowlers

Edited for making no sense.

Warren should have made it. While all those Pats are deserving, IMO Warren is more deserving than Light/Koppen.

Um, I don't think they're playing both ways...;)

Maybe last year.

Let's assume ideal weather conditions and everyone is in good health. How many points would this Patriots offense put up against a defense made up entirely of pro-bowlers? Less than 20? More than 30? Somewhere in-between? I think if they play 10 times, they end up averaging around 27 points per game against a defense of nothing but pro-bowlers.

Re: Here are our pro bowlers

Bet the NFC to win the pro bowl because the AFC will have some real tired starters.

I'll take the talented team of guys who play together all the time vs. the team of talented guys who play together once.

Re: Here are our pro bowlers

We have eight Players going to the Pro-bowl

QB Tom Brady, - deserved
C Dan Koppen, - deserved
T Matt Light, - make up for past years
G Logan Mankins, - deserved
WR Randy Moss, - deserved
CB Asante Samuel, - reputational
LB Mike Vrabel - deserved
DL Vince Wilfork - deserved

Missed out :
Welker - deserved
Ty Warren - deserved

Re: Here are our pro bowlers

im glad vrabel got some recognition...

Re: Here are our pro bowlers

It's a remarkably sensible list.

Warren didn't deserve it THIS year, and he's too young to get in on a career-achievement-award basis because he deserved it last year.

Light and Koppen may or may not be stretches, depending on why one thinks the running game is merely solid instead of dominant against defenses keying on the pass.

Welker is surely in the top 6 or so WRs in the AFC this year, but it's not robbery to say he isn't in the top 4.

And those are the only quibbles one can realistically have.

Brady and Moss have awe-inspiring numbers, and the numbers aren't misleading.

Samuel and Vrabel have elite numbers, and are playing even better than their numbers show.

Wilfork and Mankins are harder for us to judge, but they sure look good, and the consensus is pretty clear that Mankins is the #1 LG and Wilfork the #2 DT this year. And there are two slots for DT.

Nobody else comes particularly close to deserving it. Izzo may not even be the most deserving STer on the Pats.

Re: Here are our pro bowlers

Does anyone have a link to the rosters, or is this just coming off from the NFLN? I'd like to see if the Cowboys actually got the 11 Pro Bowlers that were mentioned in another thread.

Good analysis.

Re: Here are our pro bowlers

WOW eight probowlers. I might be in the minority but I am surprised that they selected so many of us. BUT d%#*!@t WE DESERVE IT.

I am so happy for Vrabel. It's long over due for him, IMO.
And it's about time our O-line got some love.

Totally disagree. Warren absolutely deserved it this season, as a reserve if nothing else. Personally my top 2 would have been Haynesworth and Warren at Interior Line, followed by Ngata and Wilfork as reserves. As one example of Warren's qualities, take Profootballweekly, the industry bible, which had him justifiably as an interior line starter on their mid-season ALL PRO team for the entire NFL.

Is there anywhere to check in on the alternates? I'm curious how the numbers look there. I know the Cowboys got 4 alternates in addition to their 11 players.
