Re: Taylor OUT for the game???

That is "Jason" Taylor of the Miami Dolphins?

Re: Taylor OUT for the game???

Ouch. He left the last game but returned later. Maybe it was worse than they realized. He was the one reason I was glad they won a game.

Re: Taylor OUT for the game???

Plantar fasciitis is a painful condition affecting the bottom of the foot. It is a common cause of heel pain and is sometimes called a heel spur.

If this was a playoff game I'd say there's a possiblity they'd inject him with a cortozone shot. He's probably out for the game which will NOT break Brady's heart!

If it's torn badly, he's out. If it's strained, he can play, but it will be a game-time decision. My guess is that it's strained, and he's on crutches and NSAIDs to help it heal in time for Sunday. The key may be the practice report on Friday.

I ran a marathon on a strained plantar fasciia, and was ready because of massage and NSAID therapy.

well hopefully he's healthy by the time he's our OLB next year

Yeah, it's safe to say Light's daddy is out for this weekend. Thank god, that makes me feel a lot more confident, not that I wasn't in the first place but Taylor stays killin us.

Re: Taylor OUT for the game???

If I am the Dolphins, I shut Taylor down for the last two games even if it is minor. They are going to try to trade the guy in the offseason and the last thing they need is to have him have a major injury while trying to get value for him. The Dolphins avoided the 0-16 season. There is no reason to play him unless he is 100%.

Exactly.

How bad ass would that be? Wasn't he doing pretty good for Saban in that role?

Must have been too much celebrating post game. I agree about not playing him if you plan on trading him. He had an awesome game last week and if that was his last game of the season it's a good note to leave on and should increase his trade value.

Re: Taylor OUT for the game???

u really think they are going to trade taylor? if they do, they should be shot. do they want to suck more than they do now? draft picks are ok, but you cannot justify trading your top guy for any number of picks. he is their brady. would you trade brady for any number of picks?
then again, miami is known for doing some pretty stupid things....

This Dolphins team is going to be in rebuilding mode for some time. I think they'd absolutely trade him, especially if he'd want that.

He'll be retired before they're good again, why not?

I don't think it would be stupid for the fins to start over. Taylor will never play for a winning Miami team. IMHO, it would take 3-5 years to bring this joke of a franchise back to respectability.

New owners and a new coaching staff would be a start. If I were building build a team for the 2010 and 2011 seasons, it would makes sense to trade Taylor.

Actually, I think they are trading Taylor a year or even two too late. By the time the Dolphins are legitimate playoff contenders again, Taylor's career will be winding down. Why would you hold onto an older, more expensive player when you are the worst team in football and you can get trade value for him.

I wouldn't trade Brady NOW for any number of picks. But would I trade a 37 year old Brady for a high first day pick (second round pick)? My heart will always say no, but depending on the overall situation, my head might say yes.

Jason Taylor is going to be 34 next season. If the Dolphins can get a second round pick for Taylor, I think they are crazy not to make the trade. Taylor can only play at a top level for another one or two years. A second round pick can be productive for 10. Why would they keep Taylor only to have him retire around the time they start getting good?

i understand the whole rebuilding thing, but when you rebuild, you want some veteran leadership. joey porter just doesnt cut it in that category.

No one's going to give them much for Taylor. His contract balloons up next year into the 10 million dollar range... and he turns 33 to boot.

Chances are, unless he renegotiates (highly unlikely), he's going to get cut in the offseason. No way the Dolphins keep him at his 2008 salary.

He won't re-negotiate because he knows he could go somewhere else to finish up his career with a Super Bowl contender.
