Here's the scenario:

Last season you suffered a season-ending knee injury. It is now the offseason. The upcoming year is your contract year, and your team just drafted a player at your position. As we all know, there is no reliable way to test for HGH league-wide.

Typically, it would take about a year (until the end of next season) for your knee injury to heal. If you take HGH you will be 100% for training camp. HGH can cut the time it takes to recover from injury in half.

For the sake of argument, let's say there is no way you will be caught. Your brother has a perscription for HGH and can get you all the HGH you need without any paper trail. I am asking from a moral standpoint. If you do take HGH, you will likely have a better year than if you didn't, and this could translate into 3-5 MILLION dollars more over your career.

Would you take HGH?

Are you kidding? I would take it FOR FREE. Most guys over the age of 35 will be taking some designer form of it in 10 years. This stuff is the closest thing available to the fountain of youth. Just wait until some rouge/foreign chemist really figures out what this stuff is capable of.

I think there's a reasonable probability that in ten years everyone will be taking HDH the way people take vitamins today.

I would in a heartbeat as well. I do not know of any negative side effects of taking it.

it acts as the fountain of youth if you just replenish the natural hgh that your body isnt making as much of anymore

if you take a little more than normal, it acts as a steroid, and a super healer

if you take too much, you get ACROMEGALY; your nose, chin, forehead, and fingers all grow like bannanas, and you get really freaky looking. all those people who are giants have acromegaly. notice how all their facial features look the same, all drawn out.

Yup, and I have taken it by perscription. I tore my achilles three years ago, and my Doc said it would be the only way I could ever get on the field again. Was putting pads on only 22 months later, as opposed to having it end my run. Granted I lost more than a step, but at least I could play again. I continued to lift upper body while taking it and rehabbing the tendon, and it didn't lead to any abnormal strength gains or hypertrophy.

Acromegalics like George Muresan and Andre the Giant.

I have to vote undecided. I really don't know what I'd do in this situation.

HGH, when used properly, has no negative side effects that I'm aware of. If it were sold at the pharmacy over-the-counter for cheap, then everyone would be taking it.
The reason everyone's not is 1. You need a prescription. 2. Even with #1 its expensive. Without #1 its super expensive.

And not just for healing injuries. They'd be taking it as a 'super vitamin'. Lose weight, get a better physique, don't age as quickly, etc

I do not think you were implying the contrary, but to be clear, didn't Andre the Giant have a natural HGH overproduction condition and did not grow as a result of abuse?

Also, what I have read is that HGH does not bulk you up the way steroids do in the right quantities.

Peresonally I already have. I had dental implants and the oral surgon packed in some synthetic bone with HGH in it. I could have opted not too I suppose but it seemed pretty routine to him so I went for it.

It should be available for the players under a treatment plan that is taylored to the players injury and overseen by the NFL to make sure it is in compliance with a realistic set of rules.

There is absolutely no way I'd take this. I'd retire first.

In the situation laid out above, I'm pretty sure I would, yeah. I never understood villainizing football players for HGH use, honestly. They take an absolutely ferocious, inhuman beating every week, they get injured in the process, and if they get injured badly and don't come back quickly they get cut, and oftentimes their careers end. Yet they're bad people if they're willing to take a drug to heal faster and keep their careers from getting completely derailed?

there is absolutely nothing wrong with hgh, as it is a naturally occuring substance in your body. however, like many other drugs, when used in excess it has devastating affects on your body.
take the roids that clemens did for example. deca-durabolin is used in most countries in europe as a 100% safe birth control for men. one shot every few months and you are good to go. it also is great for naturally stimulating the lubrication of joints. winstrol is also a very good steroid, as it helps build lean, healthy muscle, not the unhealthy mass that say, a-bombs would.
as in any case, most steroids can be really good, but in excess, will F*CK YOU UP.

I'd try it once, but I wouldn't inhale, and I wouldn't like it.......

As a professional athlete? I wouldn't know unless I was in that situation. If someone offered me a supply right now as a private citizen? Absolutely YES. I'd like to try it to see it's effects upon my 48.75 yr old body!:D

NO steroid should be taken if you're a US citizen. They are as illegal as cocaine and if you take them, you're a criminal and a drug abuser/addict. We need to make this absolutely clear to all the young buck athletes out there.

Steroids are for losers.

Why, you got some?
